Alicia's Keys Upgrade

I have a copy of the original Alicia's Keys but I am offered two upgrades, one for AK which I presume includes AK Electric, and a cheaper upgrade for AK Electric only which I presume just adds Electric to my account. Has the original AK been upgraded in 15, and if so what are the differences?

If anyone can explain the difference that would be much appreciated.

I must admit this is pretty confusing.

    Let me rephrase it:

Full version for the bundle is 99,50€

Upgrade from  Alicia’s Electric Keys: 24,50€

    Upgrade from Alicia’s Keys: 49,50€

And for the message that you don't qualify. If you own Komplete Ultimate 14 CE you're entitled for the upgrade price, regardless what our website says, please ignore and buy. In any doubt, you can always ask for confirmation here: https://bit.ly/n1orders

First of all then I don't think that there has been any modifications or upgrade/update of the original Alicia's Keys between Komplete 14 to Komplete 15 that people that have the original Alicia's Keys have to pay to get. With respect to Alicia's Keys as you have noticed then a new Alicia's Keys product were added namely Alicia's Electric Keys

It appear as if you are looking at the pricing in connection with the Alicia Keys Bundle page (?)

I completely understand your confusion and I think that the pricing page is very poor at explaining.

My reasoning is that it is most likely more expensive to cross/upgrade-grade to get the newer product than the older product.

So when it says "Upgrade for Alicia's Keys €49.50" then I think that it means that if you already have the Alicia's Keys then if you pay €49.50 then you will also get the Alicia's Electric Keys.

And when it says "Upgrade for Alicia's Electric Keys €24.50" then I think that it means that if you already have the Alicia's Electric Keys then if you pay €24.50 then you will also get the Alicia's Keys.

Upgrading then meaning that before upgrading to the bundle then you only had one of the products and afterwards you have both products as in a full bundle. Also then the page might be functioning better or make more sense if you are logged in before browsing the page though having both products myself then I couldn't say.

However then all the above is just my interpretation out of my personal reasoning which also even builds on reasoning about usual pricing policies more than because I think that that is what is written since I also find the page rather confusing. Also my interpretation is supported by that e.g. an upgrade for/from Komplete Select to Komplete Standard says "KOMPLETE STANDARD Upgrade for KSelect" just as the page here says "Upgrade for Alicia's Keys €49.50".

I can call for @Jeremy_NI and ask could you please confirm or reject my interpretation here ? (at Jeremy_NI there is also a whole discussion on the subject over here)

But Jeremy will not be here before Monday or later so you can also ask N.I. Purchase Support .

I think there is something wrong with the site wording. I have the old AK. If I were to buy AKE on sale it would cost $99. If I were to get the AK bundle and get the AK upgrade, it would cost $64 which would give me AKE. Why is the site pushing the higher priced AK sale instead.

Thanks for trying to sort this one out. When I am signed in, for the AK bundle I get the choice of 'Upgrade For Alicia's Keys' at 44.50 GBP and this is marked as 'best for you' but I also get a green tick on the 'Upgrade For Alicia's Electric Keys' at 22.00 GBP. Does that mean I can get AKE at £22 and if not, what do I get for the £22 upgrade? Indeed, what do we get for the 44.50 option???

@darkogav is right - why list the AKE at £64.50 if there is an upgrade path for owners of the original AK?

I'm pleased to discover that it's not just me being dumb 😉

Nothing dumb about you being puzzled or your question at all.

I can not answer your questions better than already attempted and will alas have to leave it to Jeremy_NI or N.I. Purchase Support to answer better or more precisely.

Okay @Jeremy_NI many thanks for the clarification. Just a bit odd that the website gave me a green tick on the 24,50 upgrade even though I already have the original AK - which obviously wouldn't have been of any benefit to me.

    Me Too! 🤔
On Nov. 17th, I was able to select the 24,50€ option, saying "…as owner of AK…". I paid it and got a AEK version marked as "Demo".
Obviously it seems to work, but I don't know with which restrictions and how long.
I do own the 'original' AK, purchased seperately (long time ago) and not as part of Komplete.
Today, for me the 24,50€ option isn't selectable any more on this page. What can we do now? I'm not ready to pay for a demo. (49,50€ for the real thing would be ok.)
