Kontakt 8 is VST3 only . The Kontakt 8.vst3 ought to be located in the following directory on Windows : "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Kontakt 8.vst3" .

The VST3 default location shown above is a system path and should never be attempted installed elsewhere by user.

Ok thanks,.. Poor Fellow… for giving Rich advice. Yes, it is in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Kontakt 8.vst3" but it only works stand-alone... My DAW is Reason 11 it's able to use all the VST3 Native Instruments but for some crazy poor circumstances, the new Komplete Kontrol and Kontatk 8 do not work in my DAW. Do you have an answer, my poor rich knowledgeable person?☺️

My DAW is Reason 11 it's able to use all the VST3 Native Instruments but for some crazy poor circumstances, the new Komplete Kontrol and Kontatk 8 do not work in my DAW.

I do not know much about Reason (wish I did) and absolutely no disrespect meant and sorry but I have to ask : Are you sure that the other N.I. VST that you are opening are not VST2 ?

Quote : What VST types are supported in Reason
    Reason 9.5 and later supports 64-bit VST2 (2.4) plugins
Reason 12.5 and later supports 64-bit VST3 and VST2 plugins
32-bit VST plugins are not supported.

Sweetwater.com also says , quote : "IMPORTANT: Only VST2 plug-ins and virtual instruments are currently compatible with Reason 11."

Since some of the information I have found has been with discrepancies then I haven't been able to categorically dismiss that VST3 is supported in Reason 11 , but it appear to me that it could be that either VST3 is not supported in Reason 11 or at least them VST3 support might be limited. If the VST3 version of the N.I. product is present but that you can not open it in your Reason 11 DAW then if the DAW is indeed able to open VST3 then most likely you will have better luck asking over at the ReasonTalk forum to help troubleshoot the problem since it then would appear to be a DAW specific issue and I haven't seen many Reason discussions here in the N.I. forum.

Of course then if you are sure that your DAW (Reason 11) does support VST3 then you could also tr ask either N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support or N.I. Kontakt Support if they know how to use the product with Reason 11. (In case of you need further guidance : Howto contact NI Support)

Alas then the last VST2 supported Komplete Kontrol were version 2.9.6 (newer K.K. is only VST3) and also Kontakt 7 and newer only comes as VST3.

Hi Poor Fellow, thanks for your fast response. No doubt that Reason 11.3 is capable of handling all VST3. Why am I so sure, it opens all other VST 3 instruments in Native Instruments except Komplete Kontrol's new update. No problem without the update, and Kontatlk 8 is only opening in stand-alone. I have already sent the information to the NI support tool PC.. I am now waiting for the results

Reason's own website says that VST3 was introduced in Reason 12.5 (although confusingly VST3 is mentioned in earlier releases).

Google says: "Reason 12.5 and later versions support 64-bit VST3 and VST2 plugins, but not 32-bit VST plugins. Reason also doesn't support VSTs that output MIDI or multitimbral VSTs"

    Maybe that's the issue?

Reason 11 is very clear in my book that it supports all VST3 but I think the confusion comes with a bit of a push to sell the 12.5 version. I know I work with VT3 all the time in my DAW I have composed many instrumentals using VST3. I always use one instrument by track. Furthermore, I am not using multitimbral and my midi output is taken care by my DAW when I need it

Great, then let's hope that support can help.

Until then , then maybe you could try using the free 'public' version of Kushview Element as host for Kontakt 8 inside Reason 11 to see if that works ?
