Is there a chance Maschine 3.0 will run in MAC OS 12?

I was bummed to read Mac OS 13 or higher is needed for 3.0.

has anyone tried if it will still run in lower OS?

I hate that apple stopped supporting the Mac Pro ‘trash can’ with OS updates after Monterey…

With such a big gap in generations there's no chance it will work or that NI will change their minds.

Just google "OpenCore" bro, it's not that hard to install modern MacOS on older Mac's, theres tons of step-by-step guides; just backup everything before you try…. The Trash can is super old and beaten by a modern 600$ mac mini but it's still capable enough to run Sonoma or Sequoia.

Now, you can trash the trash can into the trash can.

Apple permanently retired OS12 on Sept 16.

That means no vendor can reach out to Apple for any system support whatsoever - especially if that vendor hits a snag trying to get a new product (like Maschine 3) to behave on an old OS.

If Apple won't support NI for OS12 - why would NI support OS12?

It has been this way - since - forever.

forgive me if I’m not clear, sometimes software will still ‘work’ fine in older version even though the specs demand newer versions.

I’m curious if it will function or if it’s a case of not even being installable

I guess you won’t even receive it in NA.

Why so sassy? I’ve had Macs since OS 9, believe it or not my question isn’t weird at all.

but thanks for your input I guess…

Whether it functions or not is a matter of first getting it. Then getting it installed.

It was clearly never tested by NI under that OS. Could you install it? Maybe? Would it run? Who knows.

The bigger question for you would be- if you somehow overcome these barriers just to find out it blows up on you - what will you do?

Yeah… Tbh, its 0.1% chance of working, Im pretty sure as soon as you launch the v3 app it will complain it can't run but if you want to try…. Do it, since MAS3 is separate from MAS2 it shouldn't break anything… Install on a modern mac, copy over all files and pray, I guess… but the sensible thing would be to update your OS.

Here, if you want to try, this is all you need to copy over:
