Hi,

Many want improvement on the new maschine 3.0.. of course stems which have been done already and nothing ground breaking will be the big push alone with .mp3 support which is over a decade old.. also better arrangement which is over 5 plus years old.. another not popular feature which I'm sure has not been addressed is better routing in your daw of choice for those that only use the software as a sound module like myself.. will it be a feature hopefully but all the silence is definitely worrisome of course they will rope you in on new Shiney controller that relies on the software..

improvement on the routing side of things would be useful… some sort of user saved preset system to auto set the routings would save a bit of time

i do hope that, NI make their maschine3.x a separate instance or separate application…. meaning we can load both 2.x alongside 3.x

nothing worse than updating to a bug ridden system, with limitations… and then having to revert back to the original… hopefully NI have the sense to make 3.x a separate install

It will be a separate install, yes.

I dont record into the software but if you create a beatin 3.0 I'm sure you cannot open in 2.0.. so if you run into a bug you won't be able to open legacy software

Does that mean Maschine 2 will become obsolete the moment Maschine 3 is launched or will it still be supported?

Maschine 2 will no longer be officially supported once Maschine 3 is launched.

Correct - projects made in 2 open in 3, but not vice versa.

What does this mean for the upcoming M+ update which improves the audio kernel? This update was supposed to be out by now..

I feel like the least that should happen to Maschine 2 from here on out should be a 100% version parity for both Maschine desktop & M+ standalone. I dont want to be stuck on Mas 2.17 forever..

How long is the grace period for recent purchasers? I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

I repeat what I said in another thread. The updates you refer too in about the last 10 years of Maschine 2's lifespan have been bug fixes or compatibility fixes. Maschine 2 has largely been left to rot. Can we expect the same treatment for Maschine 3?

Without support how long will Maschine 2 work? When will the next OS update render it unusable?

I need and demand a more fair and reliable infrastructure as a working artist and in recent times I'm not getting this from NI. I will be parting company with them for those reasons going forward as I've largely invested in other non NI products now. I had over the last 15 years as a loyal NI customer invested many thousands of my money in the company and decisions like this are in my opinion a step too far.

I don't understand why NI can't keep supporting Maschine 2, at least until a new range of controllers are released. Are NI that strapped for cash that they need to go down this road and anger their previously loyal customers or do you not have the staff to keep both current and offer the customer a choice? Not everyone has bottomless pockets and not everyone may want to upgrade to Maschine 3.

This same practice happened recently with Komplete Kontrol. When version 3 was released support for version 2 was dropped. Many users including myself didn't like the changes and made the decision to stay with the older, unsupported version. At least until a OS update stops it from working. KK3 also had many bugs early on that for me made it unusable and actually stopped me from working. I guess at least I wasn't forced to pay for that update to have a supported product.

I've witnessed many other NI customers vent their frustrations on this forum in recent times. Surely this should be a wake-up call for those that make these unnecessary decisions?

I've been more than patient in hoping and believing NI could turn themselves around and provide me, as a working producer and performing artist, stable and enjoyable products to use but in the last 2 years unfortunately that hasn't been the case. I can only protest by no longer using or supporting NI as a partner in my work.

Maschine+ will receive a free update at some point soon, that includes those features.

This is how it works everywhere, what's the problem? The software is arguably more valuable than your old used hardware, anyways.

I'd love the update to be free, but at the same time could care less if it isn't.

I'm confident people will find the pricing to be very generous too.
