Time to start saving…

I'm pretty excited about it.

There are beta testers out there, so why is there still no leak about the "Midi workflow optimations" and "other small improvements"? I'm curious when we'll see a detailed feature list/changelog for the first time. The modern design and stem separation aren't that interesting.

Don't get your hopes up. Much like the Traktor update, I suspect there won't be much to excite anyone.

Part of the issue in placing priority on feature requests via a popularity contest in the forum. Go through the threads they made earlier and things like stem separation are way at the top. You have a handful of people like, "this isn't significant" and a ton of people acting like it should be the only thing NI ever works on. I'm sure they didn't use it as the only determining factor, but still.
There have been things like this in the past. Lots of people complain because they bought a groovebox instead of a DAW. NI adds clips and sounds.com integration. Like; really? This is what you felt was important?
It reminds me of game devs putting feelers out to see what the community wants. Tons of people say they want PvP. Devs add it and no one participates in PvP. A handful of people want it. Everyone else has it turned off because so few actually want it.
The moral of the story: Devs should only listen to my requests and ignore everyone else 😋

You perfectly described my issue with all of the answers NI have ever given, in which they've cited some sort of survey as a justification for poor implementation/missing features/etc.

The machine is a groovebox and is not intended to become a DAW. Essentially, it already includes everything one needs. However, there are things that need to be updated because a lot is changing around it. For example, the integration of AUv3 plugins, MP3/M4A, automation curves, optimizations for high-resolution displays, MIDI plugins (e.g., for the arpeggiator), custom chord sets, reducing the piano roll view to the scale, etc. The list is endless.
If one insists on incorporating AI, it would be nice if previews for the library were automatically generated and tagged using AI.
I believe this is also due to the fact that there are two completely different target groups for the machine. Some make hip-hop and use the machine like an MPC in the classic sense as a sampler.
For them, stem separation is a great feature!
For electronic music, a lot is missing. It starts with the unfortunate navigation of the pages, which is not fun with other synths than the internal polysynth or a TB303 emulation.
I also don't think there will be much new, but maybe one or two small, interesting features will come.

November 32nd 🫣soon :D

I think NI betatesters have to sign an NDA.. they wont "kiss and tell"
Anyways, we will know soon enough. I'm not expecting all that much from version 3.0, tbh.. it'll need to mature no doubt, these days stuff tends to come out pretty uncooked and ruff 'round the edges

I'll be happy if it actually works regardless of what new features it has without all the bugs NI seem incapable to stop inflicting on us of late. In any case I won't be one of the early adopters until it's been proven to be stable and worth the upgrade. Fingers crossed and all that.

this update should be free for plus users i feel like they owe them so much

I think it should be free to all Maschine MK3, Micro MK3 and plus owners, so basically all currently available versions of Maschine controllers. Especially when you take into consideration how long ago we got anything new in version 2.

Right. There were no free updates for over a decade since 2.0…
