No microwaves were hurt in the process of writing this article.
But users were 😂
So Electrolux is now fixing the problem the old school way, by calling all owners and sending over technicians to repair their confused appliances.
Do you envision NI doing the same? 😶
How long to a NI update making M+ think to be a microwave? 😂

You know what, considering many things said, you guys are right… The advantages of online check shouldn't be forced. You should buy it, turn it on and use it, at least with whatever SW versions it has from sitting in the store.
I still feel like comparing an M+ to more traditional gear like a SP-404mk2 or TR8s is quite bit odd, maybe im biased because before the M+ I was already used to this with the other NI products and expected it, I knew M+ was just the Maschine SW with a computer and controller attached before I got it; or maybe because I don't share this fear of being locked out of using my M+ as that never happened in my life, ever. idk
TBH bro, i saw you come into the forum with an all positive attitude not that long ago, you actually argued with the complainers in favor of NI than gradually shifted to the complainers side (not criticising you for that, I complain a lot too) maybe the more informed you are about a company (when you spend tons of time on their forum), the more you realise… it's a company, not your buddy.
I have to say, if you're that distrustful of NI, why are you using its products?? If your partner cheats on you 30 times, and you no longer trust them not to repeat past actions… than perhaps it's time to break it up? It's almost like Stockholm syndrome or something… I left Cubase because I really dislike Steinbergs practices, what would be the point in being against their actions but still use their stuff and keep buying more? I gotta practice what i preach.
I just cant imagine buying an M+ while worrying it will die the next day, sounds like torture instead of fun times making Music + I just cant grasp the logic of critiquing a company for TONS of different topics, on things they have done and others they haven't even done yet but still buy and use their stuff, this is baffling to me.

I would still opt for co-parenting with shared responsibility… 😉

The answer is quite easy: you are supposing too many things, not knowing my real situation.
Here it is, how it is in facts:
- I use Maschine because I LOVE it (and since the day of its release 15 years ago) and in my whole studio full of equipments it is the one that resonates with me the most. And this is a kudos to the ones that created it, not to the ones that came after. And also the reason why I believed (wrongly) that they could be interested in some help in understanding users’ point of view. My constructive critics were to IMPROVE Maschine and NI…but, as yourself stated many times, their attitude in ignoring users suggestions for YEARS proved me wrong
- I use NI products for a couple of reason: first is that back in the days somebody there knew what he was doing…see also the case of Absynth and his genius developer (mistreated later by NI) . Then the new comers threw everything in the toilet. Second is that I spent a lot of money in their products (yes, unluckily it is not only Maschines). Should I throw them all away? Same thing would be valid for Steinberg: I already own Cubase and stopping supporting a company doesn’t mean stopping using a product I like and that I already own. Just not supporting them any more longer.
- About my shift in attitude (which is only partial: I never argued with the complainers, only with the ones that were saying false things): I’ve always been critic with NI. The shift you noticed was from trying to come here to tell them in a constructive way what I felt they were doing wrong to help them improve to finally recognizing that they just don’t give a f. And the “all positive attitude” was towards other users like me, since I came to help THEM. The part about trying to help NI too quickly became useless, since, as said, they are not interested in it. And I have a lot of DM from NI representatives that prove this. Happy you noticed my positive attitude (which, between, is not only from “not that long ago”: I’m here from much longer than you think…simply you don’t know who I was before being LostInFoundation 😏), but maybe it would have been more important that people being paid for this should also have noticed it. But…you noticed because you care…they don’t. And I tried to be constructive for maaaany years before giving up. You can probably thank them for this.
- The part you are more wrong about is “keep buying more”. I’m not buying NI stuff anymore, since, how you say, I don’t trust them and I don’t want to “reward” a company that doesn’t behave correctly. My Maschine+ has been bought (because I was waiting for a standalone from long time) second hand, and not to save some money, but to be sure not to give more money to a company that, until they prove differently, doesn’t deserve them. As you can see, I practice what I preach
The part you nailed perfectly is “the more informed you are about a company, the more you realize”, sadly.
The problem here is quite easy: a museum can be so lucky to have the most beautiful painting ever created, but if the incompetent that buys the museum later hangs it in a toilet without even the light to see it, it doesn’t mean that if I’m so lucky to have a copy of it I should stop watching it. I just don’t buy the museum ticket anymore. And I criticize the new museum owners. The fault is not of the painting itself. It still is magnificent.
BTW: I don’t want a buddy. I want a company that respects me and the money I gave them and that maintains its words and the contracts. And that doesn’t waste the majority of its resources in finding ways to keep us handcuffed to them, instead of developing good products and good user experience that would convince us5 -
To add. Some people are complaining because they -already- spent the money & either can't find someone to sell their licenses/gear to, or have too many projects that are reliant on NI Products. I'd be pretty mad about NI dropping Mk2 support, if I hadn't sold my Mikro Mk2 last year.
