Plug-ins Button inactive in StudioOne

Hi all,
I connected S61 to Komplete Kontrol Software - eveything works fine.
I can see the selected instrument on the S61 display.
When I use it in StudioOne the Mixer and Midi screen is shown, but the Plug-ins button is inactive even if Kontakt is loaded as instrument and I can play the sounds using the S61 keyboard.
Do you have any idea, what's wrong with my configuration?
Kind regards
Frank

    What version of Studio One?

    What version of Komplete Control?

What version of S-Series S61 keyboard?

    What version of Kontakt

    And finally - what OS?

One observation - you can only interact with Kontakt 7/8 via an S-Series board if it is MKIII board and Komplete Kontrol 3.3.x.

There is no direct Kontakt integration via any other S61 board (MKI or MKII) regardless of Komplete Kontrol version.

Thank you for the quick and detailed answer!

    I'm using:
    StudioOne 7.0.0
    S61 MKII
    Komplete Kontrol 3.3.3
    Windows 11Pro

So I understood that an integration with Kontact is not possible only basic integration with StudioOne.

For me it's also important to change the active tracks in the DAW using the knob on the S61.
So this seems also not to be possible with my configuration?

Is this possible with other DAW's? Cubase? Ableton?

My config is very similar to yours:

    Studio One v6.6.4/7.0.0

    S61 MKII

    Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6

    Windows 10 Pro 22H2

I have full DAW control (using the controls on my S61MKII) in Studio One with this config.

I have not yet moved to KK v3 as I prefer the stability and feature set of KK v2.9.6 - which I also believe runs much better against the MKII series.

I think I identified the problem, but I'm far away from a solution ;-)

I installed the Native Instruments software with an Komplete M61 Keyboard.
Then I upgraded it to an S61 MKII. So I think the problem can result from an old M61 driver in StudioOne.

To update all drivers I deinstalled all Komplete Kontrol and Komplete Acesses Software and instaleld it again.
Now the installation is completed but I cant find any S61 driver - means I cant assigne any S61 Midi script in Studio One and Komplete Kontral will allow me to choose an S61 driver as input device.
    :-(

Don't know hwat to to. I'm afraid that it will not help to deinstall Studio One and NI completely - maybe I will lead to problems with software or licenses after reinstallation.

    Any ideas?

    Update…
I could reinstall the NI driver in Windows. Now its the same state than before…

Do you know how to install the older Komplete Kontrol Version?
It's not visible in Native Access…

First - in Studio One - I would remove any traces of the S-61 under External Devices

Then I would clean off any and all Komplete Kontrol software.

If you want to use KK v2.9.6 - go here:

Finally - here is my master install guide I use for my S-61 (make sure your keyboard is NOT connected):

    • Install Komplete Kontrol Software (v2.9.6 Standalone)
    • Install Native Access (v3.14.x) (Probably already installed - ignore this)
    • Connect the S-61 MKII USB-A cable to a USB port on the back of your actual PC (not a Hub)
    • Power on Komplete Kontrol S61 MKII
    • Confirm driver in Device Manager
    • Open Komplete Kontrol and review device settings
    • Re-add the S-61 to Studio One using these settings:

    This should do it.

Post back when you get it sorted.

Thank you for the detailed description!

    I think it's a user/config problem…

I installed the old version then again the new one. I also change the USB cable to acable with a "24" spec. (don't have the original one).
It's the same behaviour in both versions now.

Now all controls are working in Komplete Kontrol as well as in Komplete Kontrol as Instrument in StudioOne.
(before i tried it with the Kontakt instrument directly, which is still not working - but I'm happy with the Kontrol instrument).

The only thing that's not working in both applications is the screen.
All buttons are working fine and there's a correct response in the software from my perspective.
But the screen always shows the intial screen (Komplete Kontrol Smart Keyboard Controller).
Independet of the the selected mode (Midi, PlugIn, Mixer).
In Komplete control I selected these Drivers as active:
Input and outpu the same: DAW-1, Kontrol-1, Kontrol Ext-1

… Found the NI cable - no difference.
… ordered a Highspeed USB Hub to connect it to my High speed USB C port.
    Can try I tomorrow.
