Maschine JAM compatible with Maschine v3? Yes, it will be.

Guys subscribed to this post, so I should start getting notifications.
If heard something (official-ish) about jam and studio on 3.0 I'll post here, please do the same.
Without doubt if the Jam results not compatible with 3.0 it is (personally) a big deal as I write most of the tracks on that particular hardware, especially complex rhythms. This would be a +3 in favour of migrating to another manufacturer/software developer as soon as I have the chance.

No more need for rumors and quarrels. Read the official statement here:
Quoted from above:
What about Maschine Studio and Jam?
These are still supported, and will be supported in the upcoming Maschine 3, although some workflows for Jam will change.
This thread can now be put at rest.

This man, this. Thanks

Put at rest… or transformed into a speculations thread about those mysterious “workflows changes”? 😏

But, the M+ is also NOT running a version of Maschine 2.x. It’s running a specific firmware that’s compatible with Maschine 2.x projects, and can act as a Maschine mk3 hardware controller.
Maschine software is something else, it’s a full desktop software with GUI.1 -
as many already know… the Maschine+ is their latest hardware touting new technologies… or so NI keep going on about, or perhaps the Maschine+ is an exception to that statement…. afterall the reason they have dropped support for older models… supposedly is becos of newer technologies moving forward,
Maschine+ being their newest & latest hardware, will perhaps see their newer technologies they reference being built upon( on the ATOM processor LOL)… you seeing it now?

heres another consideration….
it seemed out of place at least to me…
why NI would ditch the Maschine Mk2 model… which is closely matched to the maschine mk3 albeit the mk3 is modelled after
and yet the maschine Mikro mk3 which is the inferior model, lacking in many aspects… remains supported….
to mine eyes… seems inconsistent

The strips are perfect 🙃
Motorized faders could brake very quickly. The JAM was a product ahead of its time (launched before M+) and probably didn’t help the sales the fact it couldn’t be used in standalone mode like the Akai APC64 or the Launchpad pro Mk3.
I love my jam, and its layout.

You're mixing system software, application software and firmware.
Maschine+ is currently on:
Firmware 0.1.9
System Version 1.5.1
Maschine Version 2.17.5
The Firmware provides very low level system functionality and is not available through normal Maschine+ updates. The System contains the custom Linux system for the M+, which enables it to run the Maschine software and VSTs (VST3). The Maschine software is a special build of the Maschine 2.0 application for Linux which can run without a desktop UI and provides dedicated UI elements to allow certain operations which are not possible on the Maschine controller for the desktop software (e.g. saving and naming files). There's apparent reason why an equivalent Linux build for Maschine 3.0 should not be possible.

it’s probably to do with drivers/firmware , os support , and future features that can’t be integrated vs cost and how many people are still using those models ,as it no longer in production
the mikro mk3 came out in 2018 after the mk3 , and I guess it uses the same code .

I changed the thread to a question and set your post as the answer. Maybe this helps decrease the panic levels

Please, close it. Thanks. 🙏

Humm… Ok, maybe thats a good ideia to avoid the thread being going off topic and making it harder for people to find the actual answer. Done! ✅
