I was about to comment this. I've got a few tracks that have an extra half beat before the drop kicks back on and putting a second grid marker would solve this issue. Now it adjusts the BPM in the section before it so it gradually drifts out of sync before correcting back to the correct BPM after the second grid marker. A pain.

Before the flex grid syncing the track must have been diffcult to sync as well, since the other track running would have been off by half a beat, right? Just curious if this was easier to handle, or maybe even a desirable feature for you.

When the drop came in half a beat late it would be out of sync. But dropping a second grid marker in fixed that. Now I can't do that without the flex adjusting the BPM in the section before.

It's 4x4 techno I play and almost all of my digital collection is bang on BPM without any tempo changes. The track in question is 133.00, but the flex grid makes the BPM 133.112 until the second marker then it goes back to 133.00. It's not a deal breaker, just annoying as I've always been able to do this until Pro 4. Now if you could choose to have flex beat grids active or not (or apply them to specific tracks rather than all), that would be great. Also I see it is already in the known issues so maybe it'll be fixed…

    • Grid Markers do not reset downbeat
Traktor Pro 4 Grid Markers do not reset the downbeat as Grid Markers used to do in Traktor Pro 3.

I don't think tp3 supported changing the downbeat half a beat of, no?

Or do you mean half a bar?

Ah, now i understand. Traktor just made a halfbeat jump for you automatically. Now i remember what happens when the gridmarkers don't align in TP3.

For the flexigrid (and 133 bpm in the first section) you need three gridmarkers. One at the first downbeat of the track, one right before the half beat, one right after the half beat.

The segment between the last two gridmarkers will have 266 bpm, the rest of the track will have 133 bpm.

This will add exactly 1 beat between the sections.

The phrase counting is certainly going to be addressed, since it is publicly in the issues section. If it stays there much longer there will be quite a lot of people getting really pissed and NI have made it know in the bug-theads somewhere that they are fully aware that this is no good and have said that there are a few 'features' in the current release that are intentionally incomplete, the better to know where to steer the development, including changes to the GUI. Imagine they would waste time on all the shiny outside of an obscure feature instead of making sure that the end product is exactly what is needed. A good approach i think.
