Komplete Kontrol issue / ScanApp3 crashes / macOS Sequoia /

  • macOS Sequoia 15.0
  • Apple M1 Max
  • Native Access 3.14.0 / All up to date
  • Komplete Kontrol 3.3.3

During launch a dialog pops up "One of the files this plug-in needs cannot be found, please reinstall or contact technical assitance. [OK]"

Komplete Kontrol launch window shows "Scanning VST(s) - RX 10 De-click". When dismissing the pop-up window with [OK], ScanApp3 crashes.

Komplete Kontrol eventually launches and seems to work fine but this behavior is extremely annoying.

Reinstalling did not resolve the problem.

Deleting everything in ˜/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Control did trigger a rescan on next launch, but the exact same problem persists.

This is super annoying. NI needs to up its game with respect to helping identify the root cause for these situations.

Any ideas? Any update from NI?

The root cause is very obvious. None of these apps are supported under Sequoia at all as of now.

Until NI states that they are - prepare to expect potential trouble and no support.

Understood and somewhat accepted as an answer. However: Given the amount of money NI charges for their products, they should up there game in supporting the most current version of major Operating Systems.

Still would love to see comments on possible resolutions.

Would think they will eventually support Sequoia. However - for Somoma - that process took the better part of a year and even now some apps are still not official under that OS.

NI would probably be right in saying they are focused on their own business right now with Komplete 15, Kontakt 8 and everything else they have going on (and coming up before years end).

suggestion: from within KK3, go Setting > Preferences > Plug-ins and deselect RX10 De-click. Quit and restart KK3 and observe the start-up.

It might be that single plug-in or perhaps the entire RX10 suite. Process of elimination by disabling and enabling might help you sort through compatibilityy issues.

@Ralf Rottmann - it really is still a very new OS, and I do accept NIs explanation that Apple changes too many things right up until public release, thereby making extra work for companies to keep up. You should really check companies websites for compatibility. That said, NI is too slow in fully supporting OS's. Its unnaceptable that Sonoma is still not fully supported. Even though some people are having no problems, it is of course too open to variables to be comfortable about updating if you want a stable system. For this reason Im still on Ventura.

@Thusis the compatibility list is still preceded by this:

Native Instruments is conducting systematic tests with macOS 14 Sonoma in order to offer full compatibility of our software and hardware products as soon as possible.

Please note that even though the beta version of Sonoma has been available for some time, we ultimately need to ensure our product compatibility with the release version.

Currently, only the latest versions of the following software products are supported on macOS 14:

Before Upgrading just look into here, so you can easily look for compatibility of the Komplete Suite according serveral MacOS versions:

Last time I had trouble with my Komplete Kontrol MK3 Keyboard and some Kontakt libraries was on upgrading to MacOS Sonoma. That was such a traumatic experience, that in future I won't upgrade to another OS version again, until it's approved by NI. Not only the code of NI is the culprit. Also Apple was in parts responsible for the issues under Sonoma. But for now it's running, so I leave it as is.

Otherwise, if you can't wait for the latest OS to be installed, just save a backup of your old system.

Can you post one of the Scanapp crashlogs?

Could you also send us the Komplete Kontrol log found here?

    Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Logs/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol.log

Note: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu

Update: I forced re-install of RX 10 Elements through Native Access and the problems are gone.
