Browser Speed Komplete Kontrol 2 vs 3
Hi everyone,
I installed today Komplete Kontrol 3.3.2. I think the Browser Speed to Skip Presets is way slower. I feel like it's way more unconvenient to navigate through. Unfortunately the new libraries like Conflux doesnt work anymore in KK 2.9.6.
I feel a bit confused right now. I realised as well that the CPU spikes way higher and the fans start to spin. This doesnt happen with KK 2.9.6. I'm not so much into new features, but it's hard to conveniently work with this like that.
Is this something others experience as well?
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards

I read some posts of other users. It seems like i'm not alone.
Actually that's pretty sad. Hopefully you can fix that at least with Version 4 :)…
It seems like coding was done externally otherwise you could fix that in the meantime. So remark to Native Instrument internals, IF and i say only IF there was an external company coding Komplete Kontrol 3 or partially coding Komplete Kontrol 3 switch to another company. lol.
Sad. Hopefully you can fix this in some years, haha lol

Yeah, it's much slower especially if you hold the up/down arrows to scroll. This (among other reasons) is why many of us feel V3 is a downgrade in function from V2 as it has not really improved the browsing experience at all, more hindered the one thing it use to do pretty well.
Hope for improvements is all we can do, just past hope has landed us here already.

"Unfortunately the new libraries like Conflux doesnt work anymore in KK 2.9.6."
Whoa. Can you expand on this a bit more?
I thought Conflux loads INTO Kontakt 8 and I am assuming Kontakt 8 loads just fine in KK v2.9.6
Want to make sure I understand this fully.

Conflux appears as Library in K.K 2.9.6 but KK 2.9.6 cant open Kontakt 8…

do you work with Apple Silicon or Intel? I downgraded again to 2.9.6 even if i miss the new stuff. With the performance of KK3 i cannot work…

Wow… really, is Kontakt 8 dead to all users of KK 2.9.6 then?

seems like yes unfortunately…That‘s why i tried KK 3.3.2 yesterday but it‘s way to slow in performance especially browsing and skipping presets. So i downgraded again and still have a huge library with i can work with, that‘s reality now for me…

The only reason to go to KK3 is if you were unfortunate enough to have purchased one of their MK3 Controllers… or if for some reason KK 2.9.6 doesn't work on the latest macOS and you took that upgrade.
Otherwise, it's a massive downgrade. Way slower. Blurry product thumbnails that are bad ergonomics. No Drag-and-Drop from Browser. Less stability. Space-wasting UI. Etc.
The fact that it doesn't work with K8 doesn't matter to me. NI will never see another dime of my money after everything I've been through with their products.

yes. I‘m looking as well for other possibilities if they not can fix the most basic stuff or even make product experience worse. I was a Kore 2 User. They had an amazing environment but it was difficult to scale for external suppliers. So they built nks and Komplete Kontrol which was a very good approach in my oppinion. And i think it‘s really sad to see that happening with KK3 even after such a long period of time that not even the browser works well. And the application behaviour is bad too. You need to click way more around. It is what it is…Lets see what the future brings or competitors of NI

In KK V2 I would often use the keyboard browser wheel to scroll presets when in a DAW project BUT I would be looking at the computer screen and watching the plugin load and viewing the preset list instead of cranking my neck down to the keyboard and pulling out the keyboard draw all the way.
NI ruined this aspect too by making it now that the keyboard opens the preset browser ONLY on the keyboard display and not affecting the on-screen browser. There was some attempt to explain this as a new feature people had asked for, but I never recall anyone asking for it and here's a crazy idea, how about giving users the OPTION to select how they want this to happen. The real reason I feel is because now the preset browser is no longer a mainstay on the left side, accessible at all times and useful, it's another limitation they have created so they just done away with another useful feature.
There are many aspects that I feel have impacted the effectiveness of the browsing from (as mentioned above) more clicks to even get to it, not being able to have browser AND plugin viewable, more truncation of long preset names than before, larger gaps in the list between presets resulting in actually LESS info on screen, slower browser performance and the loss of things like I mentioned, being able to control the on-screen browser from the keyboard, loss of DnD of samples…. I mean, if all that doesn't sound like a downgrade then I can't paint a clearer picture.
