You could turn that off in Kontakt Full. But not in Player. Even with v7
Cannot see them turning this off on K8 Player.
Some things you will need to put up with.
Especially when it’s free

Ah ok. That is my misunderstanding as I usually just get the upgrade to the new version of Kontakt Full. However, I have not purchased K8 yet, waiting for sales. After long lessons with jumping on the new software bandwagon. I am yet to explore over 50% of my Komplete 13 Collector's Edition
So, would it be the same for Single View as not being available in the Player version either?

I'm really liking the new tools and the side layout in Kontakt 8. One issue I've encountered is that you miss out on a lot of the preset filters like character and type when using Kontakt with the side layout. It seems like you need to go to the library view to be able to filter by those things which is kind of jarring and brings you out of the instrument experience.

Have no idea on how the views work yet.
I have no plans on moving to K8 until summer 2025VP

Watch this space! As you know, Drag+Drop is something we'd like to bring back to Komplete Kontrol at some point, whether it takes exactly this form or something a little different.
We have some prototype builds of layering in Komplete Kontrol, but it tends to create new plug-in hosting and automation issues, so isn't ready for prime time. Maybe you'll see that in beta at some point.
Though we'll continue to invest in performance tools in various places (Play Assist on-device is coming for Kontrol MK3 users soon), these new tools will remain Kontakt only for the foreseeable future.

I am too! Kontakt Direct Connection was already pretty powerful, but now these new tools come with performance ready NKS2 maps for use directly from Kontrol S MK3!

Kontakt Direct Connection was a newly introduced feature available only for users of Kontrol MK3 with Kontakt 7, and now Kontakt 8 as well.
Kontrol MK1 was launched in 2014, officially supported for many years, (most recently brought up to date for Apple Silicon). Although end of support for Kontrol MK1 was announced in late 2023, we both patched twice, and continued to make available the last compatible version of Komplete Kontrol (v2.9.6).
Kontrol MK1 users will continue to be able to load and use Kontakt inside Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6, and Kontrol MK2 users in version 3 or higher.1 -
Yes! Kontakt 7 already does, and Kontakt 8 does as well.

Yes! This has been the case since Kontrol S MK3 launched last year, in Kontakt 7, and now in Kontakt 8 as well.

Could you elaborate? Kontrol MK3 supports Direct Connection with Kontakt 8.

I would encourage you to request of Ableton that they add support for the migration mechanism plug-ins use in some other DAWs.
1 -
Not at this time. The performance tools are available for control from MK3 though, with NKS2 performance maps.

Which DAW can seamlessly swap out a Kontakt 7 instance with a Kontakt 8 instance without losing your settings or automation?
1 -
The migration method is available for any VST host to implement, as part of the VST SDKs offered by Steinberg. I know at least Cubase and Nuendo make use of it.

With people talking about the migration being a VST/Steinberg thing, I suspect I'm out of luck no matter what. I use AU, not VST. Was a similar migration mechanism implemented for that format? I know that it's not NI who can control whether a DAW uses the mechanism, but no point in me trying to convince Ableton to add something that can't be done.
