elektric piano vs electric keys

There's a number of them out there. I personally have several but the one I turn to most often is the Electric Keys - Diamond and Phoenix. But I also use the Scarbee A200 and Scarbee Mark 1 occasionally. There's also a bunch of other ones in the Factory Library 2 such as the Wurlitzer and Clavinet.
The one I'm most likely to buy in the next month or two will be Alicia's Electric Keys as you can pretty much cover the full range of old and new style electric keys with that library.

ok how can I try the free kontakt software? I'm trying to install it but it seems impossible

ok I did it. now I'm in the kontakt player but I can't hear anything. I downloaded the hypha library but the sound doesn't come off. I didn't plug in any midi keyboard or audio interface at the moment. I'm just trying the software. please help

I assume you're running the kontakt player alone (not in a DAW). There's a LOT to understand when it comes to using this software so I suggest you read the manual to understand the concepts and settings. But the first place you need to concentrate is to get the audio working which is accessed through the File menu → Options and set the values for your computer setup.

you're right. not really easy. so what I did is checking the audio and everything seems correct. I have an audio interface and a midi keyboard but first I wanted to check if the program worked. do you recommend to connect them and see? shouldn't it work without them?

The first thing you need to understand is that an audio interface is only useful for playing audio and MIDI, by by definition, doesn't produce audio. It is only a digital representation of the notes you want to be played and doesn't produce audio until it's processed through some tool or utility that converts those MIDI notes into audio. So yes, if you want to hear what you're playing on your MIDI keyboard it needs to be connected typically through a USB connection to your computer where you're running something like Kontakt with sampler library such as Wurlitzer library that can convert your MIDI keyboard notes into an audio output and sent out of your audio interface

ok I connected everything. now I'm experiencing latency. is it only caused by my audio interface or the program also plays a role on that?

I noticed I can't correct the buffer in the kontakt options.... why?

I meant to say sample size

ok I can correct the buffer in the control panel. but latency is still bad
