Well, I have time. 😉

Looks like NI havent changed M+ dev team for quite a long time already. I suppose its a perfect moment to do it now, just for giggles, since we do not expect any updates any time soon anyway

remember, remember…3.0 update in november. (according to a redditor). They said they wouldn't break their NDA, but alluded to being able to preview midi notes ("like in logic") & stem separation. They also said "a lot of people will be disappointed.".

I've been reading this Reddit thread since the day it was first posted. This Redditor doesn't really allude to any features in Maschine 3. They are first asked about stem separation, but they neither confirm nor deny that this feature is available. That being said, I think it is more than likely that it will be available considering that it has already been added to Traktor 4. Also, this Redditor never claims that "a lot of people will be disappointed". I've read over this thread several times and never saw this phrase. In fact, I even tried to search for the word "disappointed" using Firefox, and the word "disappointed" never occurs once. The only variation of "disappointed" that shows up is "disappointing", and it's not even from the beta tester, it's from someone else. So if you see somewhere that they suggest something close to this, you're going to have to be more specific. If anything, this Redditor goes out of their way to defend Maschine against any criticisms. Even going so far as to say that they don't see the need for new Maschine hardware to replace the current version (something I have the opposite opinion on).

what new hardware features/options would you like NI to add?

Bros, I was paraphrasing. The OP said enough by not saying anything and responding to certain posters in a cheeky way. The responses to the OP referred to stem separation, midi note previews, and the general feelings of disappointment; OP's responses could be taken as confirmation of those user's predictions.

That's some rather generous paraphrasing. I'm not here to defend the OP (or even NI, for that matter). I just think it's important to communicate as honestly as possible what this Redditor said. And you mentioned that they said "a lot of people will be disappointed". You even used quotation marks as if you were giving a direct quote from the OP. And nothing like that even remotely comes across in this thread (from the OP), even when he's responding to comments from others. There is a moment where someone asks if the interface for Maschine has been improved. Someone else (NOT the OP) responds and says:
"Not much. They just made it darker, and it’s still low res, like most NI products. Pretty disappointing, but at least it didn’t get significantly worse like Komplete Kontrol did."
To which the OP responds: "Are you a Beta tester?". There is nothing about the OP's response that suggests that they think users will be disappointed. He's just challenging the prior response to see if that person had actually used Maschine 3.0 beta and was talking from experience or if they were just making something up. This was the only time a variation of the word "disappointed" shows up anywhere in this thread. Every other time someone criticizes/expresses disappointment with NI or Maschine the OP either ignores it, or if they do respond it's to defend Maschine.

I think the features I'd like to see added are a bit "lightweight" compared to what some of the power users might want.
First, I'd like to go from a split screen to a single screen similar to what they've done with the Kontrol MK3 series. I own a S49 MK3 and a Machine+. Going back and forth between the two I prefer the single screen experience by far.
Second, I'd like to be able to load Kontakt instruments in standalone mode. Even if it's only the "official" libraries available via Native Access. Related to this, I hope that the new MIDI Tools that are coming with Kontakt (Phrases and Chords) as well as Leap will also be available with Machine 3.0. I'd like to see these accessible on standalone as well.
Finally (and this may be an NKS thing more so than a Maschine thing), NI promises to offer unparalleled access to parameter functions via NKS 2. This seems to be the case with some libraries more so than others. For example, I'd like to be able to randomize parameters on Play instruments from Maschine without having to use my mouse. The (relatively) new Low End Modular and Schema Light libraries have cool ways to randomize presets, but none of this can be done directly on my Maschine+ or S49. I want to be able to access these kind of features in Maschine standalone mode. I like how Ableton has added parameter randomization for macros in the recent Push 3 update. I'd like to see this on Maschine as well.
Of course, more experience users might have more in-depth features they would like to see compared to what I've outlined. But if these three things were added, I would be satisfied for life.

Humm… so your ‘first’ is really worth another hardware investment..? Because a new M+ will not solve your ‘two-device problem’, or does it? Besides that, the other two wishes are software related.
When reading the Reddit post I also can’t find “disappointed”, but I do read “there's gonna be a bunch of pissed off people” (copy-paste). Then again, the whole topic is about Maschine SOFTWARE (the DAW) and not the Maschine Plus hardware and device software. So if there’s any disappointment it’s DAW-related (and maybe the lack of compatibility with the M+ (MK3 or KK) hardware).

It's not so much that I'm looking to solve my two device problem. I'm not a big fan of the split screen and just prefer a single screen to a split screen. Besides that, I'm planning to sell my S49 at some point no matter what.
As for the other two (one of which is more an NKS thing than a Maschine thing), I just wanted to put in all my thoughts for what I'd like to see, hoping that maybe someone important reads them. I was tempted to also comment on my (admittedly minor) gripes with the Play instruments and the Maschine Expansion series, but I wanted to limit myself to three to avoid going on for too long.
EDIT: To add one more response to the question asked by @HugoClubs, I like the way that Ableton is trying to "future proof" the Push 3. With a modular hard drive and memory, it's possible for them to extend the life of Push even further than with the Push 2. Even if it's unlikely that NI would consider a similar approach with Maschine, it's a thought worth entertaining if only for the fun of it. Even if one of my other requests is possible with the current Maschine hardware (ie, making it possible to load Kontakt libraries in standalone along with new MIDI Tools), I wonder at what point these new updates will put a strain on the processor in Maschine. Especially when trying to run multiple libraries and effects at the same time. With modular hard drive and memory, it would be possible to just by the upgrade kit instead of having to buy new NI hardware every so many years. That said, the Ableton standalone upgrade kit ain't cheap, so it's still a pricey consideration. Perhaps it would be a similar conundrum if NI took the same path.

a quick question here… if that’s (chip upgrade) only want, then why don’t you build a mini PC? + Maschine controller. This way you do not have to predict or depend to how NI moves forward.
Mini PCs are really mini these days, and more capable than standalone devices. Though I understand, there are drawbacks.
And I like to be untied from a PC… I’m a hardware guy

Well, if we're just talking about the processor (and not just my desire for a single screen; superfluous, I know), I'm not sure I want to buy a mini PC just to resolve this. I'd still need to be connected to a monitor to launch Maschine. And even if I programed my OS to automatically launch Maschine when booting up, it just be another device I have to manage. And if I have to update my software or install a new library or expansion, I'm going to have to connect to my computer and monitor anyway. I have a lot of travel on the horizon and it would be nice to have a standalone device I could pull out en route. Having a mini PC would just be another device I'd have to have a power outlet for (or an additional drain on my battery pack). It just feels like it would be more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather just get something like the Polyend Play+. While it's not as robust as Maschine, it's built for the kind of portability I want all in one device.

Still, is a ”single screen” really worth another hardware investment…? On an instrument you own for less than 4 months now…?
Of course a GUI on two screens differs from one on a single screen, but in case of a device like the M+ the current setup does make sense, because there’s a lot of zooming involved.
And, as NI already said the new Maschine 3.0 software that’s in the works “will of course be compatible with Maschine Plus” hardware, I don’t think this approach will change anytime soon… or they would have to maintain two separate GUIs for two different screen setups.
So yes, because of the implementation / port of the on device software, there may be some changes in the GUI of the M+. Then again, we are still waiting for the other updates, including the kernel. So hopefully the long delay is due to including an updated App version 3.0:
And then we’re back on-topic again: More information on future updates M+.

yeah, I can see the appeal of having a single larger screen but I wouldn’t buy a new Maschine just because of that, and that’s something that’s probably coming in future hardware maschines.
To be able to upgrade chips on the Maschine+ would be great actually

Anyway, silence and how much time is this going is just unacceptable. :(
