Really no way to batch Generate Stems?

Am I missing something or is there really no way to batch generate stems in Traktor 4? Yes, I know that generating stems seems to be a resource intensive process, but is the intended behavior that you can only select the "Generate Stems" menu item when one track is selected?

Unless I'm missing something, any time I select multiple tracks, the "Generate Stems" selection disappears

What is even worse, there is currently no way to make a smart playlists that shows all stems :(

My personal opinion is that they will first fix the most common bugs and then come the fine-tuning.

And it looks like they're setting a good pace this time too. 😅

Thanks for the confirmation. Seems like an odd choice. I mean, it's not like stripes were ever super well organized and they take up space. I'm sure I've got PLENTY of orphaned stripes in my collection.

Not even sortable by its icon in browser, yet. I hope smart playlist and sortability for stems will come soon. And hopefully, we will finally be able to sort browser list by "preparation list" icon. 🤞

Short answer: we'll be separating tracks one at a time for the foreseeable future.

At least you can assign a hot key for it. Better than nothing I guess.

Yeap, assigning a key for generation and making a temp list of everything you want to convert pretty much makes a batch convert queue, it just takes a few keystrokes

It is a total pain that you can't batch gen stems against an entire playlist or being able to select multiple tracks and have the options to click generate stems that way!

Is there anyway to view the progress of stem creation? Like if you have clicked your way through a list of tracks to generated stems how can you view the progress of the conversions other than just waiting around for the stem icon to appear?

There is an INFO line at the bottom of the playlist that you can switch on in Preferences. It will show a progresss bar for track analysis and stem generation jobs as well as other information.

Guys - Stems technology, on all platforms, is still very much in its infancy. It's very processor intensive, and, in my humble opinion, still sounds pretty bad.

Even if batch processing was available, stems generated now will have artefacts, and would need to be done again when (if?) the separation technology gets perfected.

The feature exists. Hobbling it because it isn’t perfect is stupid IMHO.

Creating stems is also only CPU intensive on Traktor, most other platforms use GPU.

There's an easy solution for batch-creating stems. It's called Nuo Stems :)
