This topic is for content and discussion relating to Arturia NKS. Most Arturia plugins come with NKS as they are NKS partners with NI but I have created more advanced templates for Pigments as the existing Arturia template is more minimalistic, this is useful if you want to do sound design for example and need more detailed hands-on control (as I do). This illustrates another use for the NKS editing tools that are built into Komplete Kontrol; it's not just about creating NKS for plugins that are not NKS ready, but also users may often not be entirely satisfied with the NKS mappings created by NKS partners and wish to create custom mappings that better suit their needs.

This folder contains extended templates and NKS content for Pigments 4 and 5 as well as a template and NKS content I created for Minifreak, and there is also a mapping of Minifreak by Christos Adamos here

The main product Arturia do not provide NKS for is Analog Lab but there is NKS available for this from Freelancesoundlabs

    One thing that comes up from time to time is users saying they can't see the NKS content for their Arturia plugins in Komplete Kontrol. Most times this is due to errors installing using Arturia Software Centre (ASC). Tt's important to know how to setup ASC to use it most effectively when installing or updating NKS.

    If you are a new Arturia user and have not used ASC before, the first time you run it you get a typical setup dialogue and if you are planning to install NKS content so you can load and control these plugins in Komplete Kontrol you must select the custom option to install third party content (which includes NKS presets plus previews).

    One nice thing about the ASC is in options you can also select "Silent Install' which means once you have got past the first install dialogue, every other setup for all their plugins is run as a background task so you don't have to click through them manually. Sometimes this catches users out though if they did not select the custom option to install third party content the first time they ran ASC (perhaps before they had a Komplete Kontrol keyboard) because then every installer runs with the options that were selected the first time. So this will also result in no NKS showing.

    The solution is simple, deselect the Silent Install option, restart ASC and allow it to run the first installer again, this time making sure you select the option to install third party content. Once this is setup and the first installation is complete you can then reselect Silent Installs and restart ASC and now it should install NKS content for all the plugins.

    A similar problem is when a user did install NKS ages ago but then deselected to install NKS and set ASC to silent installs, as this can result in NKS being not kept up to date. On M series Macs in particular this can result in migration issues and instability. Again the solution is to temporarily deselect silent instals and reinstall all plugins with Third party content selected. Always keep Third Party content selected as Arturia do update their NKS pretty regularly.

    MiniFreak 2.0 Bank NKS

    Presets only for the new bank MiniFreak 2.0, which is included in plugin's new version (2.0) but for some reason it doesn't have any official NKS presets.

    Thanks - there are some already in the User Library though plus it does also have NKS support but I made an extended template as theirs was not great

    Amazing work. Did you ever figure out how to make the previews make sounds for the sound banks?

    The Factory banks with my extended Pigments template in the NKS user library have previews, as do the original Pigments NKS from Arturia, so maybe you could copy those as long as Tommy's have the same filename?
