hi there

get a new PC next week and I still want to use my KK S88Mk1 with all it´s lovely functions

I´m using 2.9.4 of KK software, but found now a 2.9.6 → is it safe to install or does this version "kills" the lovely functions as KK 3.x ?

regards

The Sarge!

Well, 2.9.6 is fine to use with the MK1 and MK2, there were honestly very (very) few fixes ever done to KK (even with the current version fixes are just as slow) so there is very little difference between v2.9.4 and 2.9.6 to worry about. If you are on Windows you will be fine for some time, macOS tho and your time for that version to be supported by the OS will be limited.

Should also be noted that V3 of KK is NOT compatible with MK1 keyboards, only MK2 and above so for MK1 users they much choose V2 and v2.9.6 is the latest that works.

KK 2.9.6 is the last version to support Komplete Kontrol Mk1. As far as I know that update hasn't changed anything on functions.

I'm not sure the newest KK version would affect it. I have a S49MK2 that I run using KK 3.3.2 with no problems. You can still use the older versions but that will limit you from running the newer or updated versions of the plugins that are built to differently.

but I have Mk1 and I only knew that Mk1 get all those superior functions deactivated and than it would be a 1000€ piece of nothing special masterkeyboard

that it´ll limit f.e. Rob Papen or Arturia plug-ins I hear the first time

    thanks sounds nearly good

just waiting that someone will confirm "yes, with 2.9.6 everything works perfect like with 2.9.4 but with bug-fixes"

I cannot attest about "bug fixes" per se but 2.9.6 is the final version of Komplete Kontrol that supports the MK1 and it works fine.

    thank you very much

I´m on Windows, because of this macOS-trouble all the time (and since I´m retired the price, too)

Serious misinformation I'm afraid @DunedinDragon for all those users of MK1 hardware - Any versions of KK above v2.9.6 will KILL MK1 functionality and make them just "MIDI controllers"…
