using stems generated in TP4 in TP3

So TP4 is still buggy with the remix decks. (clip launching, sample size/speed w/ F1)

I am generating stems and using the loop recorder to record isolated samples for use in the remix decks.

I can use TP4 for set prep, but until remix decks bugs are addressed, want to perform with TP3.

Is there anyway to use the stems i generate in TP4 in TP3 as it is (more) stable (less buggy) for performing and I would like to be able to use stems as well?

This will not work as the stem metadata in Pro 4 is not the same as Pro 3

Sure, it's just that the stem files don't have any meta data. But technically you can play them.

Probably better to use a 3rd party stem generator in that case.

How can I play them? I see the stem folders with a (m4u?, not in front of the computer) file, but can't load it as stem, only loads as full track

I never used stems on tp3. But they should behave has regular stem files as far as I'm aware. Was the deck type set to stem?

Yes, but when I tried to load a stem, it only loaded single full track

Thanks Allan, I guess I will have to choose between Using Pro3 if I want to use Remix Decks or using Pro 4 if I want to use (Traktor generated) stems. That is unfortunate.

Could you give me more details on the issues you are having with the remix decks?

    Sure,

The sample launch is buggy, when click on (or on F1 push) play\sample trigger, sample will not play, have to stop sample, then re-trigger (usually will work). Sometimes triggering a different sample in the same channel, then triggering the original will also work.

Sample speed\size is not functional from F1 (works in Pro 3) speed adjustment works from GUI (but glitchy as well). Also the sample size will randomly change (ie. from 32 beat to 16, or 16 to 8, but not perfectly and throws off timing) and will have to drag sample to different channel and then back to correct.

Have you contacted our support team? I think there is currently an investigation about this issue.

BTW, I am able to open TP4 stems in audacity, can do what you want from there, pull vocals, save all stems as separate files then use stem creator to "make" a stem usable in TP3. Don't know what your opening unless you know what date/time you generated stems at, so have to search if looking for a stem you have already generated days ago.

I do not understand why NI made STEMs generated by TP4 incompatible with those for TP3….

Or does TP4 version use e.g. flac? As Apple loosless does not work on Win for years…. And old STEMs did not provide other loosless format.
