Hello People,

Ive been having trouble getting the X/Y axis to work inside Ableton Live 11 when i record, its not tracking like it does with my other instruments.

On my other insturments im having no issue at all: Thrill, Mysteria, Ashlight,Pharlight,Straylight all work without issue and track when i record.

Any help would be appreciated. I may have forgetting how to set this up but from what i remember inside ableton theres an arrow on the top that one must enable once the track is armed.

Hey @Jalal Jamal You are right, the behaviour is not the same in Saffron. In Ashlight and other XY libraries you can simply click on Configure, move the XY circle and you're good to go.

It's not working like that in Saffron, I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, I readched out to the developers of that instrument. I'll update the post as soon as I have more info.

You would need to MIDI learn these parameters with a MIDI controller:

Those params are basically the mod wheel and expression - they are evidently setup for the Kontrol keyboard as you can use MW + touch strip to control the XY. Surely that is recordable?

Also it is setup to Komplete Kontrol params which again should be recordable using host automation (not MIDI)

It seems a bit weird though that to access the XY using the Kontrol keyboard knobs you have to go into EDIT mode in Kontakt

In the meantime I reached out to the Kontakt Instruments team. There should be a hotfix in the coming days to address this issue, thanks for flagging it @Jalal Jamal

Hi Jeremy thank you so much, any idea why they omitted this feature i mean it kind of feels counterproductive?

I will try to see if i can Midi Learn the controller and leave the steps on here.

Looking forward to hearing what they say!

@Kymeia i was thinking the same thing when I loaded it up. I didn’t actually see if Komplete Kontrol would’ve solved my issue as I use another keyboard to control these instruments and was hoping I could continue in a similar fashion. I think that I should’ve done this first before posting but it still seems a bit odd given the legacy of the other instruments.

Jeremy thank you so much. I appreciate that you took some of your time to speak with the Kontakt team. Looking forward to see how things develop on this. Its a great addition to the Kontakt library and i hope they make more like this, with all the usual controls.

    Much Respect,
