Is it possible to change the torque in tt mode on an S4 Mk3?

In settings I can change the torque in jog wheel mode but the setting doesn't seem to change tt mode. In tt mode the wheels feel 'slippy', more like an old belt drive turntable and I would prefer it to feel more love a direct drive. Can't figure out whether it is possible.

No. Tension only affects JogMode, sadly. But change speed from 45 down to 33 should make a little slippier.

That's a shame. I had switched to 45 rpm with the thinking that more angular momentum might make them feel more 'firm'. Will switch back down to 33 rpm and see how I go. Something that could be resolved in a firmware update?

@christheninjapirate Maybe it could be resolved. But I wouldn't expect any firmware updates for S4 Mk3 anymore. The last one was released in May 2019.

Dang. Might have to invest in some analogue decks after all. Or maybe a Rane?

Only the Twelves MK2 from RANE are compatible with Traktor, but I personally would not recommend these players to anyone.

I have some myself, but they drive me crazy with this damn playhead skipping bug. But if you're already playing with other DJ software, or are thinking about switching, then they're OK because you can emulate different time codes with them.

I had thought about the Rane 12 and have a vague recollection of seeing a couple of posts where people were having problems, maybe with reading of the time code signal?

Yes, they have a "faulty" timecode signal, or something like this. In my opinion only a firmware update could solve it. I'm about to selling my Twelves and buy fresh Technics MK7 or Reloop RP-8000MK2 to put my MWM Phase Essentials on top. Combined with the RP-8000s it would be something similar to the Twelves.

But, it's a little bit off Topic here: The title of this Thread suggests something different.

Btw. I'was also not a huge fan in general of the motorized jogs from the S4MK3. I ended mostly of my time using it by disabling it and go with the "Jog" Mode instead of the "TT" mode.

Maybe it's worth it to start a suggestion in the suggestions thread about your wish of regulating torque. We will probably never see any feature like this for the S4MK3 but eventually they will take it into account for future products in development.
