I enabled 4 FX Units and would like to control the FX 3 & 4 like I can control FX 1 & 2. How can I use my hardware to do this?
There are no built in controls with the S4. You can map them but...
The main issue with controlling the other effects is that it causes the knobs to be incorrect.
There is a function called soft takeover. But in my experience it is really annoying.
Even on the S8 controller, there are other knobs to control those effects but the indicators only show what decks are active when shift is held. It can get confusing.
I use a separate controller set up with my own custom settings.
I use a traktor X1-mk2 to control FX 3 and 4.
On the X1-mk2 I don鈥檛 see a control for FX 4. How do you get to control FX 4 from the controller?
If you set the x1 to control C and D chanels, you can control FX3 and FX4 with the upper knobs
Hi!
I got the same issue here. I ve got the S4 and I d like to use FX3 and 4 on the hardware.
Is there any switch button from 1 to 3 and 2 to 4 in order to control it from the S4??
Please! Any moderator or people from native 馃檹馃徑鈿狅笍馃А
This is the answer:
There is no native switch.
So 4 FX but nothing to use it ??? Well done Native 馃槼馃憣
X1, S8, F1 (with remapping), S4 (with remapping). As mentionend above, remapping a switch involves knobs being in the wrong position and as a user you have to have this in mind instead of concentrating on mixing your tracks. A seperate modular FX controller (like X1) is a lot better and available. 4 FX units is a NI bonus you can use with additional effort or leave out.
I think the current iteration of the S4 is better than Mk1 or Mk2, which switched automatically to Units 3 and 4 when switching to decks C and D. It always got me confused and i had to remap the buttons to keep this from happening. I'm sure NI's surveys confirmed the user preferences.
I use the 4 efx on the s4 mk3 with a mapping made by me. I'm using a button as a modifier and I activate efx 3 and 4 on the same buttons as efx 1 and 2. So I choose between 1 and 2 or 3 and 4.
Yup, that is exactly what i meant. Care to share your mapping so that our co-members who are new to mapping may have a solution or starting point for their own mappings?
This is the mapping to use the 3 and 4 efx in the s4mk3
I use this button because it is repeated on the right side. If you press it it changes to green.
When it is in blue everything works normally.
When it is green you can assign EFX 3 and 4 to all channels as you do with 1 and 2.
Thanks a bunch. 馃馃
