Why isn't Session Guitarist Sunburst Deluxe v1.0.2 not working with Kontakt v7.8.1?

I've been having trouble using Session Guitarist Sunburst Deluxe v1.0.2 with Kontakt v7.8.1. I get the message that "Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file, which was saved with v7.10.1.000."

Kind've confused because I have the latest kontakt. I thought this thread would help, but there's no download for Session Guitarist Sunburst Deluxe. Not sure if it would even solve my problem.

Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries

It might be worth noting that Session Guitarist Electric Mint v1.1.0 works fine. Please help! Thanks

From what I gather by reading your post, you've answered your own question.

If you have Kontakt 7.8.1 and the file you're trying to open was made with Kontakt 7.10.1 then clearly 7.8.1 is not the latest version, and as the message says, it's too old.

The newest version is 7.10.5 from a few days ago.

Your picture contradicts your post, as it shows 7.7.0 🤷‍♂️

I just checked your profile to see if there's any computer info, and it says you're using MacOS 11. Minimum requirement for Kontakt (latest version) is MacOS 12 - as stated in the Kontakt 7 FAQ.

In Native Access, I'm not seeing an update for kontakt 7. I also went to the website to download the player, thinking it'd give me the latest and it gave me 7.8. Yes, sorry picture is from the URL I pasted

Not exactly sure that Player is updated with the frequency as Kontakt full.

And - what version of Native Access are you running anyway? (3.11.1 is the latest)

11.2… I know kontakt specs say 12 or later, but its already running fine with Session guitarist Mint. Wanted to avoid updating but I know i might have to. Just doesnt make sense one is working and this ones not. It's also not even showing up in my browser/instruments I own as shown here.

I have to go to load>users>shared and click on the .nki file

The reason one is working and one is not - is one (for reasons unknown) now as a version save stamped with 7.10.x.

All my Session Guitarist "updates" are "saved" to require Kontakt v 7.6.x - but no newer.

Almost as if someone "saved" this instrument (you are trying to open) in the latest version fo Kontakt - which makes little sense to me…

Also - you will never get the latest version of Kontakt running Mac OS 11.2

    That ship has sailed.

It does make sense, because one's an old product and one's a new product.

As a general rule, you can't run new products on old operating systems. MacOS 11 is four years old. You got lucky with Electric Mint, as that is only a year old - but Sunburst is new.
