Can I run a Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2 mixer with Traktor pro 3 with either a X1 MK3 or A&H K2 controllers? I have a pretty good idea how I would connect everything but wanted to make sure it was all comparable before getting the mixer.

Hello, Could I connect the xone k2 directly to  Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2 and use it as external mixer for Traktor? ( I use only the xone k2 as controller of Traktor and not the CDJ ). what are the steps to follow please ?

Why do you want to connect your Xone:K2 to your DJM? As the K2 features two stereo outputs you could do that but have to use the headphone out as output for a deck.

And without any need you are limiting yourself to two decks in Traktor.

I would connect the DJM via USB to the computer and set Traktor to use its internal audio interface. Would connect the K2 via USB to the computer only and won‘t use the K2s audio interface at all. Would use it just as controller.

Do you mean connect the Xone to the DJM with the network cable and ue the DJM as external mixer?

While you can use the DJM as external mixer, the Xone k2 can't speak to the DJM via the network cable. That only works if the mixer is from xone itself.

But you can connect the DJM via usb to the computer, and the Xone via USB and then ues the DJM in external mixing mode. That would be the propper way.

    Hello,

I am quite new to djing.

my idea was to use the xone as both a MIDI controller and an audio interface, sending the audio output from Traktor Pro 3 to the DJM-900NXS2 for external mixing. The DJM-900NXS2 will handle the mixing and output to the speakers, while the Xone controls the software and audio routing.

what would be the benefit of using the djm sound card ?

how to connect the Macbook to the DJM? do I need a pioneer software?

what is the input source to select in case I use the xone as sound card, Line?

and A/B if I connect the mac to the DJM?

I don't want to use the CDJ but only the xone k2 as a controller for traktor.

    thanks for the help. :)

Using the djm as the audio interface would mean you could mix 4 decks instead of just 1. The xone k2 only had a single line output (and headphones)

Also dj directly should result in better sound quality.
