It has always been possible for a user to edit their post to correct a mistake or update information in an older post. I have tried to ask via PM about this but have not received an answer so asking on the forum why it is now no longer to edit a post after 1 day of posting? There are some old posts of mine I would like to update information within.

why it is now no longer to edit a post after 1 day of posting?

Personally I have received no information about that change. Not saying that it has not happened only saying that it's not for lack of want to answer , but I simply have not been told anything or have missed it if it has been posted somewhere.

Ha, you expect to be notified about changes? That isn't how things work around here, you are served a change and then either accept it or be banished/ignored if you don't like it.

It has always been possible to edit posts for the last 10 years I have been a user and when this new forum was first switched on there was a limit which was incorrectly set and I asked back then and it was removed so we could update OUR OWN posts. Now it has been re-enabled and I have asked in PM 3 times @Kaiwan_NI but receive no answer as to why it is now only possible to edit a post for 1 day. Even Facebook allows users to manage their own information. I do not see why a user is locked out from being able to update or remove information if they desire. Just another change causing users undue frustrations.

There are MANY reasons a user may wish to update an older post they made especially if they create an "informative" post that may need a link updated, or some grammar replaced or they said the wrong thing and wish to clarify. Just another restriction being imposed for no real good reason.

Still pointing out this ridiculous change to the forums.

whoa…..just noticed the (1 day) edit limit. that is weird. maybe some technical resource thing? or maybe moderators do not want pings on old topics being modified?

First we haven't purposefully change anything so there is really not point to scream outrage. As far as I can see both of you should have the ability to "always edit" your comments. Is that not working beyond one day right now?

"Screaming Outrage"? Who is screaming, don't see any caps or major rants, I am pointing out something and yes, I am frustrated with the constant issues/changes/restrictions I keep hitting and the seeming attitude I get from you guys that dont understand or get it. This kind of thing also adds to the frustrations when trying to point something out being tarnished with the brush of a ranting user when it reads as rather civilised with a tone of frustration to me.

I asked in PM 3 times to @Kaiwan_NI why this change has occurred and have been ignored. When people are ignored or pigeonholed it tends to make you feel pretty frustrated, ignored when reporting bugs, ignored when contributing feedback or asking a question. Makes it seem either there is some agenda or just a lack of care. I would ask in the discord group I was a part of, but I seem to have also been remove from there too.

To answer your question, no I could not edit posts after 24 hours. I was able to up until about 3 weeks ago when it was changed. I see it has now been changed back and so it seems to get attention on something, one must "scream outrage" to have someone look into it. I apologise that I feel I have to.
