Instant doubles (duplicate deck) issue on Traktor Pro3 / Kontrol S4 MK3
When I make a duplicate deck by loading the playing track to another deck, the doubled track is some 200-300 milliseconds behind the playing track, so it's not perfectly in sync. This issue happens when duplicating a deck on my brand new Kontrol S4 MK3 browser. If I duplicate the deck in the software, the tracks are perfectly in sync. Has anyone else experienced same issue, and any ideas how to fix that (without having to click sync once the doubled track is loaded)?

Hello, I think it's the S4mk3 when it's in TT mode, in JOG mode it works correctly.

Can't say i have encountered this problem. How do you duplicate? Overmapping? qml? keyboard?

I duplicate using the S4 browser/load encoder button.

Yes, I have that option ticked. The problem is not that the track wouldn’t be duplicated, but the problem is that the duplicated track is not perfectly in sync with the playing track, so I need to nudge it to get them playing in sync and not being a trainwreck.
Here’s a quick video of the issue:
Even if the playing track is set to master and sync is on for the deck where I load the duplicate, it’s everytime behind by a few hundred milliseconds. Tried with and without snap and quant, but nothing helps. And seems that the issue is not related to Kontrol S4, but same thing happens if I drag-n-drop the duplicate track, then it’s behind even more. This is driving me nuts. Is it really so that the software can’t get instant doubles playing perfectly in sync?
I’m using Mac with M1 Pro chip, Sonoma 14.5 and Traktor Pro 3.11.1 17.0 -

Hello @Mathias68 Yes, that's it! Thanks a million for saving my mind. I need to check if it's the same with time-coded vinyl or Phase.

Have you been using TT-mode (like @Mathias68 mentioned) ?

Tempo is different when you duplicate it to Deck B. Does the same happen with Sync activated in TT mode?

The hint from @Mathias68 cracked the problem, which was indeed the jog wheels being in TT-mode. Switched them to JOG-mode and now doubling works in perfect sync.

Sure. I have now tested with time-coded vinyl and Phase DJ Controllers. With both duplicating the playing track works fine in perfect sync. So, it seems to be an issue with the Kontrol S4 MK3 in TT mode. I wonder if it's a hardware firmware issue, a Traktor Pro 3 software bug, or both. Could it be fixed?
Of course, I can overcome the issue by changing the jog wheels to JOG mode when duplicating a track and then back to TT mode, but that feels like an unnecessary hassle.
