Komplete Kontrol M32 - Luna compatibility

Hello,

I added my Komplete Kontrol M32 keyboard as a controller in Luna, but out of the box the integration is very limited. Will Luna be added as a supported DAW like Logic, ProTools, ..?

    @Wouter De Muynck There are no plans at the moment to have Komplete Kontrol host integration with Luna.

    @ScarletLetterMan It has to come from both parties since they have to work together. There has been talks with UAD but there's nothing planned at the moment.

    How come? Is it a technical issue that does not allow, resources? Is Luna to new and to small active users? What would have to happen to get NI to make Luna official supported?

    Transport works with Luna though using MCU

    Does this any automation, effects etc from Kontrol S keyboards will not be written to Luna?

    Luna is one of the best sounding DAWs out there and is quickly becoming extremely popular. Granted, they need to work on the MIDI side of things. Please integrate with Luna!! This would be a huge game changer!

    There's your problem and why I guess Luna support is not a priority - it's a very audio and fx oriented host at the moment. While Komplete Kontrol can load FX it can't automate them, which limits its value in something like Luna as the vast majority of UAD plugins are FX. You can control transport as I said with MCU protocol, and it can load Komplete Kontrol so you can record instrument automation, that's probably all that's needed right now.

    Ive just done a test with the S61 mk3 and Luna with Ethereal Earth - Alchemy. All automation applied on the keyboard controls is audible on playback in Luna with LATCH activated on the track.

    I wondered at first if the automation was being handled in the plugin so I tested again with the track in READ mode and there was no automation. So, It seems to work fairly well out of the box in Luna.

    I use Luna almost exclusively but I am a brand new NI user. in fact my S61 only arrived yesterday so I'm learning as fast as I can and its a stunning piece of kit!

    Any ideas what might work in other DAWs that doesn't in Luna? Just so I know my limitations. I also have Logic to fall back on but Luna is by far the best sounding solution for me.

    I didn't read your reply correctly I'm sorry.

    The test I did was exactly what you outlined :) Fortunately in my case, I use Softube Console and Fader for a lot of plugins and transport tasks. Its not a game changer that that Kontrol can't integrate fully as long as I can get automation from the S61. That's the main thing for me.

    You can get automation for instrument plugins hosted in Komplete Kontrol, but not for fx basically. It's a stupid limitation and one I hope NI will address at some point.

    As Apple decided to change the behaviour of MIDI controllers, I also ditched Logic and after a free trial of Ableton (included with the UAudio Volt 276), I decided to stick there for now 😌. After a few attempts all I needed to work, just works… That’s what a software should do, just work.
