The price points for different grouped of users will be revealed by market forces as the 360 subscription tiers (with options) roll out to a wider audience. There's gonna be a lot of trial and error to find landing points.

"Market forces" have already had their say on any subscription model. No one cares.

And since a 360 sub is not even close to an exact "product by product" match with Komplete Ultimate - not even sure why we are talking about it.

As a perpetual user (now and forever) - the only way I can ever see NI giving me a "stay current" option is by losing a lot of money to me very fast. I already know that is simply not going to happen.

And the OP is not asking about a subscription either - what he really wants is a perpetual "make me whole" add-on that conveniently presents itself exactly one day after the release of each new NI offering (assumed to be part of a future Komplete bundle) - and features some "anything but retail" price to ensure he is always current.

    That won't happen either.

Market forces are continually in place and everything is a moving target.

And the OP was seeking a "member" relationship which certainly touches on a subscription concept.

"And the OP was seeking a "member" relationship which certainly touches on a subscription concept"

Understood - however can't quite understand how the OP - who is clearly a perpetual licensee - could see any value whatsoever in a member "sub" concept where on one hand - he would get access to all these "new" instruments as long as he kept paying only to lose access to everything if cancelled.

OP seemed (to me anyway) to be dialled into ownership vs "renter"-ship.

There could be a whole new type if NI customer.. those who want to "freeze" their NI Komplete bundle ownership at the current level.. and switchover to discounted 360 membership so they could always enjoy the latest releases.

If priced right, I myself would likely make the switchover. The current method of NI ownership has a structural flaw of there being a negative incentive to purchase new products as they come out.
