Traktor control vinyl using Pioneer DJM-A9? Your experience?
I've got a vinyl gig tonight. Thought I'd bring my control vinyls, haven't used them before.
The bar has 1200s and a Pioneer DJM-A9 mixer. I wanted to figure out if I should anticipate any problems. Tried googling but no luck.
Can I use the vinyls using this setup (and no NI hardware)? Should I expect to have to upgrade the firmware of the mixer?
Any other things I should keep in mind?

As long as you install the drivers before, I don't see why it would not work.

Personally, i always make sure to test the setup i am going to use before a live gig. There is no sure thing. Will you be able to come early to test and/or do you have a portable alternate setup you could use just in case?

Hey, I've done that a few times. Everything works as usual. Install the driver. Set everything up in the A9 Setup Utility. Set channel routing in Traktor and go.

Of course. I just wanted to save myself the hassle if something is known to not work.

I had a feeling i wasn't telling you anything new. I get it now. ^^

Still, if you're not sure, offering the info is the kinder thing to do, especially since it comes with that little bit of risk. Plus, you'll probably help someone else who rambles in here from Google.
So thanks, still!
