Like Yamaha DX7

Good morning,

In advance, sorry : My English is like a beginner.

I'm looking for a plugin that would have or imitate the sounds of a Yamaha DX-7

I'm lost with the quantity of sounds that Native instruments offers us.

Could someone help me by suggesting some plugins?

    FM8 is the NI equivalent of the DX7 - FM8 – digital FM synthesizer | Komplete (native-instruments.com)

    You can load the original DX7 patches into it, and copies of those are floating around on the Internet.

    This is good news because I own FM8

    Unfortunately, I'm a beginner and I don't know where to find the DX-7 patches and how to load them.

    Do you have any advice?

    You can find a good selection here - Yamaha DX7 patches | Yamaha black boxes online archive

    Download the files you want then import them as banks into FM8 using the File/Import SysEx menu option.

    They all seem to import OK.

    [later] Ah maybe not. There seems to be a naming issue when they import.

    FM8 is not importing the names as is. It's deleting some parts of the name, which then leads to other sounds not importing because they would have the same characters after FM8 has deleted the rest.

    For example, if the original name is E.BASS 1 then FM8 drops everything after the . and imports it as just E, meaning than other sounds that start with E. don't import.
