I just bought the Z1 today and I notice it didn’t use a power adapter it only has RCA and USB I also can’t get it to work with Traktor DJ2 I saw videos on YouTube where it works with Traktor dj2 for the iPad I taught it would be plug and play I only got it to work with Traktor PRO 3 does anyone know how I can get it to work I’m thinking because it doesn’t have a power adapter my iPad doesn’t recognize it but I use a type c adapter for my IPad Pro and the adapter has two USB and a port to keep my iPad charge

I know your post is months ago but as this thread was bumped I want to add something. In this video the Z1 wasn't shown from the back. From the top you can't distinguish both hardware revisions. Even if he uses his Z1 without a power adaptor I expect his Z1 to still have the connector for it. The old version works without external power even with an iPad. Tested this with my iPad Pro years ago. You are limited to battery power of your iPad then and can't charge the iPad during your session. The new revision without power connector doesn't support use on iPad at all. Current product page does not state something about iPad compatibility either. Unfortunately the existence of two revisions with similar feature set is not clearly communicated by Native Instruments. Meanwhile Native Instruments also announced that there is no further support for Traktor DJ 2 on an platform.

Glad it works for you. You clearly have the old revision. But there is no need to post this in almost every thread from the past which has Z1 on iPad as topic. And I wouldn't rely on this solution for actual gigs as these apps aren't supported by NI more. Can be over with any update to iOS.

You bought the newest version. This one doesn’t have a power socket and doesn’t work with iPad. The one you saw in the videos is first batch version

Wow do you think I made a bad choice when I bought it I just actually wanted it for my X1 Mk3 to use the audio interface it’s does work with Traktor Pro it’s ashamed NI doesn’t update there DJ2 to support all there gears if I knew how to get it to work with Djay Pro Ai that would be nice I really refuse to buy any Dj gear other than NI

I've just got an iPad Pro M4, and to my delight everything works! The not only does old red Traktor DJ app (which I prefer personally) work on the M4 chip, but when using this anker usb-c dock adapter I can connect the Z1 using the normal USB cable, and no additional power is required. Main and headphone outputs work fine, as do all the controls. I'm sure this would run the battery down fairly quickly, but you can plug in a usb-c cable to charge.
