Using Stock Maschine Effects Elsewhere

Hey all!

Looking for some help. I'm currently moving certain projects over to Ableton, but I still want to use Maschine stock effects, Resochord being a big one for me.

Is there any way to use the Maschine stock effects as plugins in Ableton, or would I only be able to open up Maschine as a plugin in Ableton and somehow route the audio to use the Maschine plugin as an effects send?

Any help or insight is appreciated.

That’s still possible only if you still have a version of Maschine FX plugin, which, guess what, it’s been deprecated by NI (strange, isn’t it? NI never does this kind of things…😏)

If the procedure described there isn’t available, the second part of OP post is the way to go: routing DAW audio to an instance of Maschine plugin

Thanks so much, you two. I might still have a version of the Maschine FX plugin on my old laptop. @LostInFoundation if I do find it on my old computer can I copy the folder it's in and bring it over to my new setup like I would any other VST? Or are there going to be compatibility issues?

You have to try.

Not so sure it’s gonna work, not because of compatibility issues, but because NA should authorize it in the new computer in order for it to work. And I suppose there will be no “Locate” function like libraries have. Another way NI blocks users from using what they had before…not only they remove functionalities for new users…they also find a way people who has them can’t use them…

Let us know if copying it from a computer to another one will suffice or not. Otherwise we could test what happens if we install an older version of Maschine who has it and then update to the newest

@LostInFoundation I'll play around with it a bit and see if I figure out anything. Separately, I have a working version of Maschine 2 FX on my current PC that I was able to use for some of the current factory Maschine effects. Do you happen to know how to get the Maschine effects to work with the Ableton configure? When I click the parameter knobs like I normally would they don't populate anything in the parameter box in Ableton.

In any case I can confirm what you said: it’s 30 min I’m trying to test for you Ableton Configure, and I can’t succeed to make it work. For other NI FX plugins it works, but not for Maschine 2 FX

The setup I'm describing is running Maschine 2 FX in Ableton as an effect on top of an instrument. Here's how I got it to work.

Ok. I knew about the first part.

About the second part (the Configure one): in my testing I didn’t switch from MIDI to Host, where the “Enable” buttons appear (which is in any case a different way to do it, since it’s not enough to click on a knob but we have to use those enable buttons)

If you dont mind me asking... All this just for Resochord?

Ableton has the Spectral Resonator, which you can feed MIDI into or you can even use the envelope follower to have a sound trigger another with chords/pads and that sort of stuff... both options are way more advanced than Maschine single chord resonator...

Every Maschine FX has a better counterpart in Ableton and most DAWs.

@D-One I’m for sure down to explore alternative effects and plugins that are more flexible/powerful at all times. The only reason I’m doing this is because I’m rebuilding an album I was partway through working on. I’m moving all of my in-progress tracks from Maschine to Ableton and that comes with limitations. I want it to be rebuilt exactly as it was (hence some factory effects here and there) and from there I’ll decide how I’ll change things moving forward. My biggest goal was just to retain that feeling of having the tracks exactly where they were when I had last worked on them to stay in the same creative headspace as much as I can.

Oohhh... I see, it all makes sense now. Dang, I hate having to rebuild projects, it's such a pain.

In that case what Lost explained is the best way afaik, good luck man!
