No, because VSTs are written to run on Windows or MacOS, and the Maschine+ runs an embedded system.
As far as I'm aware there are no standalone products that run VST plugins.

No, I had the same question and while the new software does support VST3, it only supports VST's that are compatible with Maschine+ There's only a handful of VSTs right now that work with Maschine+
I can't recall them off the top of my head. Perhaps @D-One can add more info.

Here's the thread I was referring to. Took me a while to find it.
If you scroll down AsylumSpeaker mentions the plugins are already installed and include Raum, Phasis, Massive, Reaktor, FM8, and Prism.

Yes, the versions of those plugins on the standalone hardware support the VST3 standard, but they're written specifically to run on the hardware. They can't be just copied over from a computer and function.

It's not related to VST2 or VST3, that's irrelevant. Some stuff works some does not.
The instruments that work in standalone Mode are listed on the M+ product page under Sounds:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine-plus/sounds/
Just watch carefully as it's only the instruments with an orange and white + (plus symbol) in the corner, below those you will see "Connect your computer for even more sounds." which applies to every NI instrument/synth/fx...
