Thank you so much for this guide, worked like a charm!!!
For people, who are wondering about the long update time, it took my computer about 1 hour and 45 minutes to update my keyboard.

Same for me, only MK2 drivers... I have the latest Windows 11 updates. This is so frustrating :/

YO LISTEN
I got this working, but the OP is wrong
First of all, try to update the firmware, and get the error.
Find the driver as stated in other devices.
The driver you need to update it with is in serial bus devices, Native Instruments, and your NI model/ DFU
Now DO NOT CLOSE the updater
Hit retry!

Thanks for posting your findings, Dark God. This is not working for me unfortunately as the device is not listed anywhere.
I don't get why NI doesn't just post the drivers on their website... I think I'm just going to bring it back to the store and find something else.

Universal Serial Bus Devices are hidden by default, under the view tab click show hidden
You can do this any time in device manager.

I had checked that option already but unfortunately there's nothing there. I think I'll just have to wait for NI support to get back to me

Thank you all guys, I managed to update my new keyboard with your instructions, shame on NI tho, not what I wanted to go through with my new expensive toy.

Because if a user is properly and fully updated to the latest Windows version that includes the driver Microsoft rolled out, this detailed workaround is not necessary.

I was able to update my Kontrol S49 MK3 via my Macbook, but my Windows 11 machine still isn't detecting it when I plug it in. The keyboard lights up, so I know it's receiving power (and I would think data, as well). I've fully updated my Windows machine, and it's now on Windows 11, version 23H2.
Any ideas why it still wouldn't be detecting the keyboard...? Seems like this would be an easy fix if the drivers were posted online so I could directly download them and ensure that's not the issue here, but I'm open to any solutions.

Wait, never mind. I just got it to work by using a separate USB-C cable for power. Not sure whether it was a faulty cable or the USB-C cable included wasn't able to fit fully in the USB-C slot on my machine to make all the connections fully or it just wasn't able to receive enough power. Either way, it was a silly issue.
