Why NI doesn’t listen to users.

Very simple. They cannot.

Edited the former pic that was here because the leaked image of Akai MPC 37 Key turned out to be not confirmed. Although it is still heavily rumored to be arriving very soon (perhaps a few days at NAMM?).

Still, how does Akai manage to release so many products and feature updates while NI, despite new partnerships and investments can’t manage to deliver?

I just don’t get how a company so far in the lead can lag so far behind.

I really wish they would atleast follow through with being more transparent about what’s going on with Maschine considering their newest products exclude support for it and what we can actually expect going forward from the last “flagship” product.

Are they just trying to be attractive enough to be acquired by another company? (Do your thing Tim Apple!)

I wish. My dream of the perfect controller for Logic is a Maschine Mk3/Komplete S49/Maschine Jam that can connect/dock iPad Pro via magnets like Magic Keyboard.

Neveruary. Because these companies hate us lol.

Unwilling or unable. Take a pick.

This happens because the management is incompetent, and they are not interested in taking care of the company.

Akai is just using up the stock of those ROC SOC's they mass bought in bulk, another enclosure, same internals. They are more active with their OS updates though

I just figured out that the two boxes on the cart behind the MPCs are......wigs!

Very strange. Who orders MPCs and wigs?!?!

    😂

Why is it strange? Tons of artists wear wigs, especially women, or maybe it's a costume party jam session. 😁

I'm assuming these were going to a retail outlet - and I've never been to a music tech store that also sold wigs. Maybe it's not so unusual in other countries. 🤣

Any chance of re-upping the pic? I wanna see if the wigs match my eyebrows

According to a post on nauts

”The name of that store in the background is wigs and plus, which is located in manhattan. The store the MPC Keys 37 is delivering to is Guitar Center, which is right next door to Wigs and Plus in union square. The wig packages are going to wigs and plus and the mpc key 37 are delivering to guitar center. It’s 100 percent legit, trust me.“

    haaha! 🤣

To me AKAI adding stem separation means they listen and keep an eye on production trends but IDK if that keyb product qualifies as 'listening to users', were AKAI users massively asking for a smaller version of MPC Keys?? I struggle to find anyone out there using the first versions to begin with, while the normal MPC's have tons and tons of users.

OK that explains it! Wigs to one store, MPCs to the other.

Not right next door though, looking at Google maps - but close enough.

I don’t believe those are real pics personally but I stand by the OP. Akai clearly listens to its users. As does Roland (also very slow but my SP, MV and Aerophone all received feature updates directly from user feedback). I won’t include TE because I only have EP-133 but David, co-founded of TE is on ‘Nauts forum engaging with users and our requests have been added and he talks about what’s next. Updates have been coming in hot. Resampling and project backup is up next.

NI on the other hand almost seems to put effort into NOT listening to users. In fact, to use more current terms—I feel gaslit and trolled by NI’s repeated user surveys and empty transparency promises.lol

Ok they were real.lol. This certainly is. personally, I’m not interested but I know it’s going to sound like hotcakes because it makes sense and I saw how many people said they had no interest or space for the huge bigger version.

Id go out on a limb and say 25-37 keys sell better than 61-88 keys controllers.

Maybe I am being a hater but +- a single octave doesn't seem like something that makes that much of a difference if one really has limited space, or wants to carry it around. It's not exactly KeyStep sized...

Oh, nvm... MPC Keys only had a 61 key version, no 49. Hum... I guess next year they release that aswell and people will go nuts.
