Please license new Artist presets for Rounds
I know it's an "old" instrument at this point, but it's just really neglected. Sure, I could lose myself for a couple of months after work learning how to get into advanced sound design in Rounds, but honestly, I have no interest in that. There's essentially zero synth present packs in the commercial space. That just leaves NI to do it. The Artist presets are really good, but man, there's not many. And there's only 1 Artist (Plaid). It looks like this space in the preset browser was set up to have more expansion for other artists, but it never materialized? Anyway, great idea, great instrument, super interesting sounds. But there are so few of them!

Thats the problem though, the artists don't want to take the time to learn how to create sounds, they want to buy presets... but they only want artist presets made by artists... it's a paradox man!

The whole concept of using any kind of instrument is to create your own sound, your own signature.
It seems that this fundamental truth has been forgotten from most modern producers... and that is a major reason about why 98% of last decade's music is the worst s-h-i-t ever recorded in the history of music.
So... go ahead, twist the damn knobs, even randomly, and create your own presets.
Then share them with us. Surprise us, we seriously need it!
Note: This is the major reason why i always include very few presets in my Reaktor ensembles. People MUST experiment! Anything else is copy-paste, not music creation. End of story.

...of course, it's definitely not because presets are hard work and difficult to do well, and at the point where you've finished building something, you want to start building something else, not spend hours on presets...
One thing you have to realise is that If you post something to the User Library (or release it commercially), you are putting in in a space where there are so many other choices for folk that they can never try them all... in that context, if you don't have a good collection of compelling presets, you're pretty much dead in the water.
Even if folk do want to eventually make and use their own presets, then need some evidence that taking time to learn your synth will not be wasted effort, your evidence should be a thorough collection of quality presets, covering all the bases, genres, etc.
Think about it this way:
when you download a new ensemble, how do you judge whether it's worth your effort? do you first spend many hours every day for a few days, learning all the features and how to get the best out of them, then more hours for more days working on sound design, before then finally deciding if you will keep using it.... OR do you flick through a few presets and try them out, quickly deciding based on those randomly selected presets whether this is awesome, or it sucks?
I know for me if I see just a handful of basic presets, I'm thinking that if the creator is so uninspired by this ensemble that this is the best they can do, then I'm not wasting space on my hard drive let alone my time ;)

this is a good point, however it is not fully accurate, for example, my JP-8000 has only 54 presets (and only 1 is for bass), however it has 4.300 downloads in less than 2 years, which is extremely good for a free instrument.. however if i did it commercially, things would be different of course...
personally, i am creating for the creation itself, without expecting anything, not to mention that for me presets works opposite... i mean if i get something with yet another saw bass, or another hard lead which sounds exactly the same as thousands others, i will say that the creator is uninspired...
of course, each one has different needs and wants, i always look for unique sounds, while others might love to have one more saw bass in their collection... :-)

Hardly a good example though. JP-8000 is a copy of an extremely well known classic synthesiser, I would be willing to bet that if you created something with an equal number of features, but completely original in synthesis topology and GUI design, your download figures would have been somewhat more modest. And then the bundled presets would be significantly more important.
Generally in the UL, anything with a GUI/name that looks like a classic device will have 1000s of downloads... The actual synthesis doesn't even have to be close (there's Juno 'clone' that doesn't even have the basic oscillator topology of the original... sounds like any generic Reaktor 'my first synth', and yet has 1000s of downloads and positive comments). If it looks right - or even roughly similar - it gives folk the warm fuzzy feels and they can fantasize about having a studio full of vintage classic hardware.

Indeed you are right... my "Red Dragon" which is far superior, has only 940 dl's...

The last thing I intended this thread to be was another soapbox for Sunborn to stand on and tell us all how his way is the only correct way.

then, don't post
you are in a community here, not in your personal space!
it is not my fault if you posted in a category that i know well, neither i can remember (or i even care) everyone that might don't like me for stupid or false reasons (because probably you read it from few ignorant people)...
but most importantly, this is not "my way"... it is the true musician way since decades, and there is nothing you (or anyone) can do or say to change this,
but hey, let me offer you one last help so you will never hear from me again... :-)
welcome to my ignore list and bye-bye!

@oobe79 @Sunborn easy folks, there is really no need to get heated about presets.
I'll answer the original question though and I'd say it's very very unlikely that you'll see artist presets for Rounds anytime soon. This isn't where artist wants to collab on and I don't think the team is focusing on Rounds. Collabs happen with products with larger user base like Maschine / Kontakt or Guitar Rig.

That's just incredible disappointing and, in my opinion, a very bad strategic decision.

It makes sense, though. Maschine, Kontakt and Guitar Rig are most used after all. Rounds... I don't think so.

@Monochrome exactly.
