Now is KK 3.02 even better, KK3 started crashing my Nuendo 12 (on win10),

and Kontakt 7 in Nuendo not responding to S88 MK3, what on earth is going on there.

Same Issue here. Got through all the trouble in the world to bring my s88 by plane from Spain to Morocco only to connect it and find out there's a Major issue that can possibly result in me having to make another round trip with a 50 kg oversized case to get it replaced.

    Unacceptable

I would suggest going through NI support, and wait for them to provide assistance.

Hi Martin thanks for the Help.

I managed to update it via a friend's M1 MAC. It's working perfectly now.

I would strongly suggest that anyone having trouble updating their keyboard using Windows to just use someone's MAC to make the update. Worked like a charm for me

I posted this on another thread, but:

"USB-C can be fickle, on certain machines. This can affect all peripherals, but particularly ones sending lots of data back and forth, such as a display or our keyboard(s). I've seen this affect about 100 USB-C monitors across an entire business, and am bound by NDA but it appears specific to certain models of computer.

A high majority of the support issues we've responded to (including things like failure to update, connections to software not occurring, inconsistent performance) have been solved with brute force workarounds of the in-built USB-C connection. Meaning: the use of a USB-C hub to bypass the problematic connection on the direct-in ports, and or other method that are effectively the same (adapter)."

why do NI release hardware that does not work I have just received my MK3 and can not no mater what I do get it to work I am stuck with a welcome screen and can not update it or even get my pc to see it have used very USB port on my system I have 4 PC in my studio and lap top and not one of them can install this thing.

in this day and age this is as poor product release as I have come across and no-one can answer a simple question and treat their customer as if we are dong something wrong. We are not we should be able to simple install a simple keyboard controller with out having to deal with this nonsense.

can some one please advise me what the issue is and how to resolve this or I will be simply positing this on every social media platform I have and returning the unit.

The hardware does work. For many thousands of users. In some cases, things can go wrong (for example, the USB-C issue mentioned above is beyond our control, and all we can do is advise workarounds).

To resolve your issue - I would first ask that you start a dedicated thread so that we can ask more specific questions, and avoid polluting this one. Tag me in once you have, if that's ok. Please note too that threats of social media are unhelpful, and not a faster path to resolution. We are very literally here to help.

Additionally, before even doing the above, could you ensure that you've:

    • Registered the serial number in Native Access 2
    • Installed the NI Hardware Connection Service from NA2
    • Installed Komplete Kontrol 3.1 from NA2
    • Installed the latest version of Kontakt 7 (if you have it) from NA2
    • Downloaded and installed the latest version of the keyboard firmware when prompted to do so

This sounds like an unfortunate (and rare, not that this helps you) defect. I'd get in touch with customer support about a new replacement. Yes, it's still functional, but no, it's not acceptable that you'd get that noise.

There are multiple problems in this thread, so apologies for asking, but which issue are you having?

Open a thread of your own and give all relevant information , such as computer type , OS and OS version , version numbers of programs used if applicable and Keyboard version and any and all trouble-shooting steps taken by you to remedy situation including exact error message if any ! .

Or contact Support and give them same information !

Hallo da draußen, ich habe mein S88 mk3 erhalten und was soll ich sagen...Update fehlgeschlagen. :-(

Ich schätze, mein Weihnachten hat sich damit erledigt.

    Mein System

    WIN 10 PRO 64 BIT Betriebssystembuild 19045.3803, 64 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

Any actual driver problems with Windows should , according to N.I. , have been fixed already if users update their drivers in Windows. On the subject of 'driver updating then check this: Fix for Kontrol Mk3 firmware update on Windows !

However your problem might not be the driver as such but the 'port' or the cable or lack of a power supply. (As far as I know then the S88 must use a power supply when updating !)

Never the less then suggested solutions are still to attach an USB-C power supply to the keyboards power inlet using a cable that you are sure can transmit power. Then connect the keyboard to the computer using a passive Thunderbolt 4 cable and then try more ports and if necessary also try a USB 3.0 port using an adapter that actually works (not all USB-C to USB-A adapters works in actual use situations). Otherwise one is also to try the USB-C connection using the self powered USB-C hub as go-between.

It is important to understand here that you can not expect the cable that came with the keyboard to be good enough for any situation and also other cables that works in another context may not necessarily work. Hence the suggestion to using a passive Thunderbolt 4 cables as they appear of best quality, but they are alas also expensive and even using such are not a 100% guarantee that your problem were not something else. But it is still the best advice that I personally have to give !

If you want 'better' and more 'professional' advice then contact N.I. hardware support !
