Native Access wants to install stuff whenever I launch it. How to make this stop?

Hi all,


Native Access 2 wants to install stuff whenever I launch it for the first time after switching my computer on. How to make this stop?

    You actually need to let it install stuff.

    I allowed it and nothing happened.

    Same for the majority.

    Hey Milos, nice to ready uo again!


    So I do let it install whatever needs installing, but these pop up every time I open Native Access after restarting my computer. I would imagine once it's installed, it is for good so it wouldn't pop up again, wouldn't it?

    Always the same installation notifications.


    is it something my computer deletes every time?

    Yes.

    I used Task Manager for analysing this situation and everything is good!

    When you leave NA program, it automaticaly uninstalls most of the things fromNIDaemon, and when you open again, it installs same amount of files that were uninstalled.

    Nothing to be worried about!

    Right. Do you know what I should do for the installations to be done for good?

    It takes up only around 30 megabytes so it is no problem.

    Yeah... you cannot do them for good.

    They are nececarry for NA to run properly.

    Again, NTKDaemon only takes 30 mb.

    It is not 5 gigabytes or something.

    Once again,no need for panic.

    @herenow It's not "normal" at all. To fix it you needed to download the NTKDaemon installer and install it separately. The new version of Native Access (3.8) might fix it and should download and install automatically. If you still get the problem post back.

    With what you've just said, I found this NI page called "Native Access Error: "Please grant permission to NTK Daemon to install dependencies"" (I can't post links yet) about how you do what you suggest.

    I followed the instructions, and it worked. No more pop up windows asking me to install helper applications.

    It's not normal. It's just lazy development. They launch a script that installs the NTK Daemon each time you launch Native Access for the first time. Instead of checking if it's installed and launching it.

    You can locate the script and change it to starting ntkdaemon instead of running the setup file each time.

    No idea where the file is on MAC though. I see the same behaviour on Windows, so I presume they do the same lazy thing everywhere.

    I followed all the instructions including using Terminal to fix the issue and Native Access STILL does this:

    and no matter WHAT I do I can't get past it. I'm running on 2 Macs. The above message is what I get on my iMac; OSX Ventura 13.5. It runs on my MacBook Air OSX Sonoma 14.1.2 but refuses to download anything! I tried a fresh download and ran into EXTREMELY strange behavior. I double clicked on Native Access ON THE DISK IMAGE by mistake and it allowed me to install everything......from the disk image that was mounted on my desktop on the Air running OSX Sonoma 14.1.2. Riddle me THAT Batman......
