The MASCHINE+ Feedback Thread

Initially I was unsure if it would work but it actually works very well with my setup. I have a mpk mini 2, 1Tb T7 Samsung ssd drive plugged in the USB slots. I've never tried plugging my A49 into it though. This setup is just for when I'm not at home or don't feel like being stuck at my desk.

NI should definitely make an official accessory that somehow integrates physically with the M+ design (they could use the bottom panel screws or a magnet based system), a bit like the stand/handle Elektron has made for the Model:Cycles.

That would :

• avoid any misuse,
• provide up-sell opportunity to NI
• make the product more attractive as a standalone device.

It's an all win situation and I don't believe it's the most challenging product to make in current part shortage period.

Even a compartment for a row of 8 AA batteries inside the handle should be enough as they would bring enough voltage and capacity (12000 to 15000 mah easily) and also the flexibility to replace them when they die. If NI thinks there won't be enough voltage, they could make the accessory block the USB host ports so that no peripheral is connected in this usage mode. Ideally and for even more convenience, they could even add reverse charging circuitry to charge all the batteries inside though that would certainly increase the cost.

Most recent rechargeable AA batteries (like Eneloop or Amazon Basics) don't lose their capacity when the device is switched off as it used to be the case with this type of batteries. They work just as well as phone/laptop batteries do. I use 6 of them on my SP404 mk2 with 4-5h of battery life and plenty of convenience.

I posted it here as it's the feedback thread (actually already mentioned this before but the idea has matured since). Might be worth making it a separate thread if you think the idea is interesting.

Here is my setup, 15v supply. It works very well for 10 / 12h, and recharges quite quickly.

I am very satisfied with it and everything fits in the M+ carrying case.

Seems like a nice product with good specs.

Note: Unfortunately, the team has encountered another string of unforeseen issues that is preventing us from pushing the updates out. We currently don't have a clear timeline on how quickly these can be fixed but we'll update everyone as we go.
