The „ext“ button on the top of the mixer is activated and the little light next to it also shows „mic d“ but not sure if the settings in the software are correct.. can anybody help?

If you have a mac, did you allow Traktor to access the microphone?
I don't know about the s3, but I guess it's similar to the s4. Here is a guide: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209590869-How-to-Use-a-Microphone-with-the-TRAKTOR-KONTROL-S4
You can either route to to Aux Channel or a deck.
If you follow the guide, can you see these bars?

Hi lord-Carlos, unfortunately it did not… but I just saw that it might be due to missing power? The article you shared says: Note: The microphone input of the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 does not provide phantom power. If you are connecting a condenser microphone, make sure that it is receiving its current from an external phantom power supply….
And my rhode microphone is a condenser. Do you know which connector will be needed?
thanks,
V
