What a horrible, horrible development - New Instruments For You turns Kontakt into a billboard. A new low in Kontakt's history.

I can understand this for the free Player, but not the full Pro. At the very least please give us full license-holders a preference to completely remove it. I can live with the Shop button as it is not intrusive, but even collapsed Instruments For You takes up real estate.

Don’t like the ads. Makes it look like a storefront or website, instead of paid app. Reeks of desperation to me, honestly…

The rest I do like. Well, almost. I understand that old libraries are bitmap and that’s fine, but make the GUI vectorized ASAP. At 200%, it looks like I went back in time to my Commodore Amiga times :)

Hi all,

We’d like to let you know that we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear, and will release an update to Kontakt in the next week or two that includes the ability to hide the “New Instruments for you” panel.

Our intent in adding this feature is to help people discover new instruments and sounds for Kontakt. We’ve heard from customers that many of them (especially those who are relatively new to music production) struggle with exploring the vast range of sounds and instruments that are available for Kontakt. The “New Instruments for you” panel aims to reduce this struggle – by providing suggestions from both third-party developers and Native Instruments in response to your searches.

We also recognise that for those of you who already have the instruments you need, this can be distracting. To that end, we are adding an option to disable the “New Instruments for you” panel in Kontakt 7.7.1 (along with a fix for a crash when replacing a loaded instrument or sample in Edit View), which we will release within the next two weeks.

Until this update is available, you can use the “Set current view as default” function in the VIEW menu to hide the “New Instruments for you” panel when Kontakt is running as a plug-in in a DAW. In future versions of Kontakt, we’ll continue to work on ways that help people explore, manage and get the most out of their instrument collection. We’re working on things like audio previews and downloads for instruments you already own but haven’t installed - allowing you to get the sounds you need without breaking your creative flow. This is what happens when marketing wreaks havoc in a formerly respectable company. I guess they saw Arturia Analog Lab V's god awful in-app sound bank purchase bar (that up to recently was ABOVE the bar of owned sound banks, until an assumed user outcry convinced them to put it below it) and said to themselves "oh we should do that too!"

At least it's collapsable and stays that way when reopening the program, but the obvious point here is that this belongs in Native Access (instead of the annoying side banner ad), not in Kontakt, neither full nor player versions. The adpocalypse is bad enough in web browsers, keep it out of our productivity software. I get frequent marketing emails and sometimes just browse the website when I feel the urge, I'm quite covered in knowing which instruments I don't already own, NI.

Adil - while I truly appreciate the effort to roll this back - if NI truly ARE taking our feedback seriously - you need to have a serious talk with whoever thought this was a good idea in the first place.

At Kontakt's price point and universal usage base - if you really think that ANY Kontakt user needs your help to "discover" new instruments from WITHIN the Kontakt UI - while USING Kontakt - you guys have truly lost the plot.

What you need to do - if you really take our feedback seriously - is get your marketing department in order, then accurately make use the reams of data that you already have on all of us (with NI accts) and use my email to send me regular updates on new Kontakt Instruments from NI or select third party developers.

I have no issue whatsoever reviewing a well-crafted email from NI since I can either act on it - or trash it.

But when I am working - stay off my radar - as I have everything I need right now.

I'm glad that we will have the option to turn this ON.

I might actually do this occasionally to see if I have overlooked something fun and/or useful.

Email marketing is actually less useful to me. If something intrigues me to look at later, I need to manage how I keep it around...

this is absolutely disgusting from the same company that just took a big turd on their komplete kontrol users.

ni's recent behaviour is forcing me to look elsewhere for a new workflow.

i wont be buying anymore ni or third party products until these issues are fixed

I’m also sure that the development for displaying “new instruments for you” - based on the user’s actual tag settings - has taken more company resources and expenses than to unblock the full tag editing functionality again in KK V3.x (which was already there in KK V2.x).

I absolutely agree, please have some respect and remove the ads.

Also why has there to be ads in native access - totally annoying.

I guess you will lose loyal customers (or at least their loyalty) and not winning more whit this... As said from others: Bad move!
