Native Access stuck on "searching for latest update" MAC OS

I have an old MBP, running Mavericks OS 10.9.5 and I'm running into this Problem.

I've downloaded Native Access 1.1.3 here on the NI website as recommended for my system. But I can't login nor do anything, because it stays stuck on "searching for the latest update" ... "failed"

I've seen workarounds for Windows but none for Mac.

Can anybody give me a solution? Reinstalling didn't help either. I have Komplete 9 Ultimate.

I know my system is old, but it's just a hobby and I'm happy with it as it is. And I can't ditch the MBP because I'd have to upgrade all my software licenses and buy a new audio interface and I don't have that much money right now.

    Oh, I might add here:

    • stable, reliable and fast internet connection
    • No firewall activated
    • It's my main/administrator account on my Mac
    • No VPN. I'm in Germany.
    • No external monitors
