Why would a short .wav file automatically load as a Loop in Traktor (and how do I prevent it)?

I had a Jingle made to play during my DJ sets; it is strictly spoken word - no sound fx. The Jingle is contained in a .wav file that I have added to my collection.
Each time I load it in a deck, the deck immediately switches into Loop mode (with the entire jingle set as the loop). I need to immediately press the Loop control to turn off the Loop before I play it.
Why would Traktor (Pro, 3.5.3) do this, and how can I prevent it?

Go to "Preferences" / "Transport " and reduce the time in "Loops / Auto-Detect Size".

Good point; I don’t use them a ton, and this is a good way to get me started doing so.
