Subscription for "early access to cutting-edge tools and effects"... OK, how about fixing some of the more basic stuff like... you know, native support for current Macs that have been out for 2 years already. Or get the Beatport Link to work on Windows.

If I'm gonna pay a subscription, it'll probably be for a competing product.

Maybe not Serato, but Rekordbox looks pretty good these days. Been testing it with DVS this week (it works with my Z2, unlike Serato), and I really like the library management. It's worth checking out imo.

I'm trying not to be too negative :)

To turn things around, NI needs sustainable monetization methods to fund the development. I get that.

But "subscription" is a swear word these days. And it's not even a subscription for Traktor, it's just for the extra features ON TOP of buying the Traktor license. This isn't good PR at a time when things are broken and Apple Silicon support is still nowhere to be seen.

I disagree. Subscription is normality these days. Most people have absolutely no issue with paying subscriptions for things. Internet access, Spotify, Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, OneDrive/DropBox etc. etc.

.....or if you want to be specific to DJs - Rekordbox, VirtualDJ, Serato, Beatport/source Link....

Nah, people are getting sick of that now. Netflix is losing subs like crazy.

And more importantly, this "subscription" doesn't get you Traktor 4 whenever it's out. It's just a bad model.

Disney+ subs have shot up, and they've now overtaken Netflix as the number one streaming service. Clearly it's not a swear word.
