Guitar Rig 5 won't install

RickyB51

I have had GR5, but for some reason, I didn't install it. I have songs using it. I installed today via Access. It seems to be looking for a DVD drive when installing, but there is none. Then it says it's installed, but in the song it says it's not. So how the hell do I get it back?

Also, in my programs folder under NI, the GR5 folder is there with the app file. If I open it, it is standalone version. But the plugin won't come up as a vst in my song in Studio One v7.

GR5 is not a VST3 - too old. Also possible that Studio One v7 is either not picking up the VST2 - OR the actual plugin is installed in a very non-standard location or not at all. Judging by your overview so far - this sounds about right.

Also Native Access removed all VST2 folders/paths/setup etc about 18 months ago so I am not certain what it does here today for something like GR5 - which dates to 2011

Hmm, standard as V6. Looks like I'll have to re amp the gtrs that used GR5. Too bad.

That is simply the standalone.

Suggest you run a search on your entire C:\ drive and look for

Guitar Rig 5.dll

And see if it comes back - and more importantly - where it is located.
