90% of the time I am using Maschine plus in standalone mode and just sending the audio to my DAW (as one would with a traditional drum machine) Every once in a while I'll use it in controller mode if I want to individually treat the drums in the DAWs mixer or something. BUT I've noticed since whatever update where they added kontakt or whatever they did, the Maschine plus has been WAY slower in standalone mode and more glitchy.
I don't use Kontant, I have my own sample library I've been making and curating for years so my workflow is load up a template, go to browser>user content then navigate through my folders for drums and samples, load them to whatever pad then edit them and treat them with effects as I write a rhythm. It's a pretty simple work flow and should absolutely not be taxing to Maschine plus' CPU, I'm talking about loading one shot samples, editing them, and applying a couple of effects.
But lately even those simple operations are laggy and often when I am in the sample browser and I am scrolling though folders or sounds it will randomly kick me back to the main folder (so then I have to go back down to user content and whatever folder I was in)
It's a massive pain in the ass, I really would 100% expect machine plus to be able to quickly an accurately perform these simple tasks. I spent the extra money on the M+ instead of just the Maschine controller because my idea was that regardless of where Native instruments takes Maschine plus or for how long they support it a stand alone drum machine should last for years and years, just take it offline and use it like a normal instrument…but it slowing down since the update before this last one is really running counter to using it as a traditional drum machine.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this? I checked my SD card's speed against the manual and it is the recommended speed so it's not the SD card (also the operations I mentioned were a lot more zippy and responsive before which ever update so that also rules out SD card speed)
I really wouldn't care about losing some of the new features that were added if I could downgrade, I mean obviously that's not ideal but I'd sacrifice them if it meant that the basic operations were fast and responsive and reliable as they should be…Is it even possibible to downgrade? and if so is that the best option. Is anyone else having this issue?
