need to downgrade kontact 8.13.1 to previous version

Rick R

Not sure what my previous version was but the 8.13.1 update has done really horrible things to some of my songs. It really messes the audio up on certain instruments, adding reverb like effects and pitch anomalies

I've seen it happen on 2 identical installations using the same Studio Pro 8 song

Can you please provide the installer for an earlier version

You can find old versions at the Account downloads page !

You may install older versions as mentioned above.

This seems unusual to me. Please submit a support ticket if you'd like to help us troubleshoot that. Kontakt shouldn't be changing parameters you haven't changed. It is possible something else happened.

I would like to know more as well - I use Kontakt 8 in Studio Pro v8.12 daily - and have never seen any oddball behavior.

OP needs to expand on this:

It really messes the audio up on certain instruments, adding reverb like effects and pitch anomalies

Kontakt is not capable of doing anything on it's own - there must be a driver (usually human) in the chain somewhere.

Thank you all for the help

The problem starts with 8.13.0 and I can reliably recreate/remove it via installs

What I thought was reverb was more like sticking notes but there were definite pitch problems

I seems to happen more with highly processed instruments (like electric guitars) and when it happens it affects other instruments. It stops if those tracks are muted.

I will be experimenting to see if I can narrow down what's going on.

Try 8.14 instead.

The symptoms you're describing still don't make sense to me. Kontakt doesn't change instruments in that way. But I believe you're experiencing something.

versions.zip

I've uploaded examples

Here's what I found so far:

Using a single Kontakt instance per instrument works without problems

It doesn't seem to happen with Cakewalk, just Studio One

I need to test again with 8.14 and maybe try downgrading Studio One

All in all, this is so exhausting. It's really hard to narrow down and I don't have a lot of time to devote to it

So I will be a while in getting this done

Thank you for your help

I listened to the files.

It sounds like notes are stuck, perhaps? Is it the bass guitar? Is it that the notes are more sustained?

Rick R

listen to the pitch bending at the very end
