Can someone tell me why Massive X is not seen in the plugings list?
Komplete Kontrol see and load it but not maschine.
i checked all Maschine 3 versions and it is the same thing everywhere. you can't use Massive X in Maschine.
i found a super strange solution. i replaced the VST3 by the version 1.6.1 and then Massive X was seen. (even with a double entry in the list) checked 1.7.0 and it is still seen, now 1.7.1 is taken normally. i absolutelly don't know why it was locked, all other usual solutions failled. i never seen a trouble like that before.
I use massive x in maschine a fair bit. I am not sure why you arent seeing it
Have you thought about rescanning your plugins?
Also try to reset Maschine's database:
Reinitialize the Maschine database
1. In the Windows File Explorer, go to the following location on your computer: C: > Users > *Your Username* > AppData > Local > Native Instruments
Note: The "AppData" folder is hidden. To un-hide it, click the View tab at the top, then select Show > Hidden items.
2. Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Maschine 2 or Maschine 3 folder.
3. Delete only the Maschine folder for your Maschine version.
Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
4. Reopen the Maschine software to check that the issue has been resolved.
If this didn't work, please get in touch with our support here: https://support.native-instruments.com/support/home
The real issue with Massive X is it doesn't play properly because Maschine still doesn't support aftertouch
same thing after database clean for both. the browser see it but give this error. the vst3 list don't have Massive X inside.
i have to use a vst wrapper to load it.
i checked all, clean, uninstall, re install, and the result is the same. does windows users have it working??
Where did you get older versions? I have the same problem but with Massive X player, I don't have the full version. It shows up for me on Maschine 2 and works fine, also shows up in Komplete Kontrol. But doesn't show up in Maschine 3. When I try to assign Massive X sounds to a pad, it says Error Massive X could not load or something.
Check if you have access to the older versions of Player version through the Account downloads page.
.
So will I need to download the 1.6.1 version and manually move it to the vst3 folder and replace the current one? Then download the 1.7.0 version and do the same thing? Or do I need to do something through Native Access at some point?
the 1.6.1 vst3 (player or full is the same thing) the status is given by the user license.
simply replace it, run maschine to unlock the load. close & replace by the 1.7.1. re open maschine and it should show & load normally now.
check taskmgr if it say the file is used by an application. kontakt & maschine are still running in the ram after close. that give multiple instances still running after close. once you reboot. it is also a bug.
Thank you and sorry for asking so many questions but I really want to get it right. Should I copy the version that I have in the vst folder at the moment (the 1.7.1) to somewhere else before I replace it with the 1.6.1 version? And once I've opened Maschine with the 1.6.1 version and closed it, should I move that 1.7.1 version back to the folder or update Massive X to 1.7.1 version through Native Access? Should I untick the "always use the latest version" in the Plug-ins preferences window in Maschine before I run it with the 1.6.1 version?
you can archive (rar, zip) or move the 1.7.1 to keep it somewhere else. to replace after a valid scan.
no need to re install. untick lastest version if it fail to load.
It actually worked. Thank you so much. I moved the 1.7.1 version back to the VST3 folder, opened Maschine 3 and Massive X works. Now, just to be clear - should I rescan the plug-ins after putting the 1.7.1 version VST3 file back in the folder or will it mess things up again?
you can rescan, it will break nothing.
Okay. Thank you again and I hope Native Instruments can move this workaround somewhere it can be easily found for others facing the same problem.
