Here is a template for Ultra.Audio Ultra - so far just the template and graphics - finding it hard to locate the presets so I can export them, they appear to be in some sort of database, so that might not be possible. The template is very detailed as this is a super complex synth so took a lot of work

According to the dev they are planning to add official NKS support but no help for now with converting the presets.

The preset names for Ultra can be accessed by using a screen recording script to click the save patch button (floppy disk icon?), copy the name (after a tripple-click to get full names including ones with spaces) and then cancel that window after the name is copied.

Yeah thanks I do that with Arturia plugins - first I need the template right though and need to add an extra page early on - can anyone remember how to do that without corrupting the nksf?

I asked the same question when I was doing Mosiac, I had to resort to dozens of iterations of a Python script to do it using AI.

It would be easier just to rebuild it - this is why the editor needs drag and drop rearrangement for pages

Ok. This script worked perfectly for me. It lets you reorder a page one at a time. You can add your pages to the end first and then move them anywhere, one at a time, to where you want. To use it, cd to the the directory you want to work in with the script and a folder next to it named "src" with the .nksf file you want to reorder. Run it with: python3 reorder_pages.py. It will number all the pages, ask you which page you want to move (by number) and where you want to insert it before. I've included a preset where I used it and added a page right after your first page as proof of concept.

Would be cool if one could define the final order completely - so not just moving one around, but clarify the final structure completely for the existing set-up. Just a thought :-)

Done - this is basically your version jggorman with the added feature that one can define the complete final order of all pages in one go.

How to use it:

Requirements:

Python installed on your system.
The msgpack library (if you don't have it, run pip install msgpack in your terminal once).

How to use it:

Folder Setup: Create a folder for the script, place the .py file inside, and create a subfolder right next to it named src.
Add Files: Drop the .nksf files you want to modify directly into the src folder.
Run the Script: Open your terminal in that folder and run the script (e.g., python nks_tool.py).
Interactive Options: The script will list all pages and give you two choices:
- Option 1: Move a single page to a new position.
- Option 2: Define a complete custom sequence all at once using comma-separated numbers (e.g., 19, 17, 2, 18...). Don't worry—if you forget a page number, it automatically appends it at the end so no data is lost.
Get Results: It automatically updates the preset name (appending _new) and saves the finished files into a newly created dist folder.
