I am having an intermittent problem with Traktor Pro 4 on Windows 11, using a Traktor S8 connected directly to the laptop (no USB hub).
During live sets, one deck (2 days ago they both stopped, not at the same time but some minutes away from each other) suddenly loses its sound even with the channel fader up, while the track keeps playing or it won't start at all after I pressed play. After a minute or 2 the track resumes by itself. If I close and reopen Traktor everything works again, but the problem can come back after 30 minutes to an hour.
What I have already checked:
- Audio buffer is 512 samples, and I raised the USB buffer from 3 ms to 4 ms (the maximum available).
- The hard drive is not full and not slow, and I am not using WiFi. The multi-core processing is disabled.
- I updated Traktor Pro 4 to version 4.5.1, and all my Native Instruments products are up to date. The day right after the update, I had no freezes at all during a full set. The next day, one deck froze once after about an hour of playing, for one or two minutes, then it resumed by itself. So the update seems to have reduced the problem but not fully solved it.
- I also noticed that the laptop's charger connector gets very hot at the tip that plugs into the laptop. However, the freeze has also happened on days when the charger was not even connected, so I am not sure this is related.
