Where can I find legacy installers for the vst2 versions of these plugins? My older projects are missing these.
Even when I reinstall Massive and Massive X, there is no dll file placed under the install location
Please check at disk directory location C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit
.
They are unavailable until the direct downloads function returns to our NI accounts.
You might try NI support - only they could get access to something that old. VST2 plugins haven't been part of any Massive/Massive X installer for several years now…

@m451 The VST2 is still available for both of the last versions of these products: Massive 1.7.0 and Massive X 1.7.1. IT would seem it is a plugin administration issue. You can check the installation paths for these plug-ins in Native Access and make sure the dll files are still in these locations. If they are make sure to add these plugin folders in the vst admin part of your DAW. If they are missing in these locations, you'll need to install them again.
Jeremy - since the actual old VST2 paths (under Prefs→File Management) were eliminated in NA long ago - how does NA (and the actual Massive/Massive X) installers - know where to place these old plugins - without a specified path? Registry? Or some other method?
Even when I reinstall Massive and Massive X, there is no dll file placed under the install location.
My old VST2 dlls are sitting under:
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins
However - this is a VERY specific directory that I create (but other plugin installers also seem to recognize as default from back in the Steinberg days) when I build a new DAW to store all old VST2 plugins - even tho I do not even use any VST2's now.
How NA (Massive/MassiveX) knew to place their files here must be some bit of redirect code that I am not familar with - inside Native Access.
I will also note that the these oddball directories that Poorfellow is showing above:
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit
DID get created when I built my new DAW at the end of July 2026 - but this folder (and it's 32Bit counterpart) were completely empty here - after I completed my full NA installations.
My old VST2 dlls are sitting under: C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins
I also have some old installation versions of Massive and Massive X at : C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\Native Instruments 64 Bit VST
Some makes have put the DLLs in C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins (E.g. AIR Music Technology and some iZotope)
